PC skyscrapers were removed?

Pretty sure they said its a "bug" But I am betting they were removed on purpose due to performance issues in a17e with them. Find the shotgun messiah factory go in it, if a wandering horde shows up watch your fps drop into the single digits, from all the SI/Pathing calcs. By removed he may mean random gen, as i've never see dauphong tower, or higashi pharma, or that big crack a book building in a17e random gen at all yet. Mind you the crack a book building kinda lost most of its purpose, I don't even loot them anymore as they don't have schematics anymore, I only loot them if I happen to need a ton of paper.

Ah. Cuz I'm in Di Phung right now on Nav. If it's gone from RWG maybe.

When you walk near them, they collapse, and cause a teensy bit of an fps issue (like your computer will die for 15 minutes), so I'm thinking they've been temporarily removed until that's fixed.

This is why you don't want skyscrapers in a17 atm, till they get the poi placement stuff fixed.

Some place fine, but they still have some issues to fix yet.

It'll take a good 5-15mins for it to complete falling.

Yeah, I have had regular buildings collapse when I stepped in them, can't imagine a sky scraper, that would be pretty...fun

The POIs should have some additional block-layers going down at the foundation. This way when spawning them on uneven terrain they would not be floating (and collapsing) as in this example here.

They do, I remember when those layers were added. This is a new issue, one they're sorting, and likely why large buildings are disabled.

I've got a pretty beefy machine and I still see a little stutter sometimes at night in the top of Dishong skyscraper in Departure.

However, it's an up and down location if you'll pardon the pun. It's awesome that it's almost a city worth of resources - I just spend all night collecting stuff and taking it back to my penthouse suite. There's no way for zombies to get to me and it seems like I'm 100% out of heatmap range save for BM hordes and there's a construction site across the street I'm setting up for BM horde management. I'll go over there and whack noggins every 7 nights.

Ground floor I've let them turn into a pass-through for zombies and wandering hordes, have set up a bunch of extra reinforced pillars so there's no risk of regular activity taking the bottom out. No way for stuff to get up to me. Going to build a kick ass palace up there and down a bit lower (it's like 13 floors up, like 60+ blocks) I'm going to set up a snipers nest to spend my nights plinking noggins with arrows and getting them to run into spikes for giggles.

However, dear god it's a long climb. I'm buliding a sort of mini-storage base on the 3rd floor and then just a make the runs up and down the ladders to get goods to and from crafting up top as needed. I have a concrete bunker of a garage across the street with ramped zombie passage over and around it to park my 4X4 and bike in. I have room to make a landing pad on the roof for the gyrocopter when I have the stuff to make one.

However a skyscraper home is turning out to be a huge amount of work. Next time I'll go for something a bit more.... accessible.

I do like the idea of a building collapsing randomly. It should be very rare, but it IS the apocalypse after all ;)

Would bring some life into the game :)

Me as well. I hope they find a way to make it less costly when they crumble and have some bldgs placed to fall.

More like "it's a bug, but it's cool".
yes^

I also like that the some of the hub streets can go under water, well, minus that the water won't go over the road. If they can get the water to go over the road, That would be cool as well.

I mean a lot of streets and places, would be under water, without their de-watering pumps operational.
