I'm playing a modded game, and I originally thought it was a mod issue, so I removed the mods and opened a vanilla Navezgane world, and just like in my video, I was able to harvest iron with my hands.

AFAIK you can harvest anything with your "fist attack" just like with a stone axe. The only difference is the damage you do which will determine how many hits you have to do. Try to hit a boulder or tree with your hand and you will get stones and wood from them as well.

I know this, but if you watch my video, you'll see it doesn't make sense, I attack a 5000 durability iron door with my bare hands, each hit only deducts 1 durability, but I can get about 10 iron from each hit, I think there must be something wrong.

Ah, that is the relevant information. Sounds like a bug

Checked it myself and noticed the same. Definitely a bug. You could stand there and get over 30k iron by punching that door. Haha.

It seems to apply what should be the total harvest for the whole door in each hit for some reason.
