…why not allow players the opportunity to find combine blades recipes for late game defense. You could make whole walls to grind up entire hordes with these.

 Give them high health, great damage, and an extremely high cost to craft.

 Oh, and where’s my offensive mod for drones?? I wanna strap a pair of 9mm/SMG/shotgun to that little @%$# and watch ‘em wreck face. As long as they have ammo and repair kits in their inventory, they should attack all threats they detect. 
 

Is also like a drone mod that makes zombies show up on your radar.

You already have blade traps.  Other than being longer, the effect is the same.  And in reality, a long blade trap would just get destroyed really quickly on horde night because too many zombies can attack it at once. 

They removed weapons from the drone, and aren't likely to bring them back.  Not much need to anyhow.  The drone has terrible staying with you, making it not much use.  And having to keep fixing the drone because it is destroyed would quickly get annoying.  I already pick up the don't during horde night because it is either in the way or getting destroyed by cops.
