What I don't like about this version of the game:
1) Player blocks don't look post-apocalyptic, it look too uniform.
2) It is very difficult to understand the abundance of different blocks
2) To build something unusual you need to spend a lot of time, this follows from point 2 (it takes away interest in the game)
3) It is very inconvenient to carry construction materials with you and put them in the right boxes (this is a conditional remark)
4) Not enough zombie traps
How can you fix this:
Create a separate menu not with blocks but with original modules for construction so that it looks collective farm and post-apocalyptic and develop this menu over time. This will add real creativity to the game, because my imagination can't come up with more traps than the flamethrower turret (by the way, add a flamethrower to the game). I repeat that making a complex structure from a kaleidoscope of blocks in the current menu takes away all my interest in the game. The player's blocks don't look half as interesting as the blocks the world is built from!!! In the current construction system, you can't make player blocks unique in appearance (because they are blocks). Modules are a different story.
Look at Fallout 4. You don't have to make such big modules as there, but, for example, the elevator, I think, definitely needs to be added and whole walls and roofs too and big fence modules, staircases etc. I think this will add a lot of creativity to the game and it will be easier to repair (because i won't see broken modules). In general, the information is probably more for modders. Well, isn't it more interesting to watch zombies break down an entire wall and not some block? maybe replace the blocks in the game with modules in general??
