There are times when you might want to have empty hands, and I'm sure some people would like that just for aesthetics as well. Right now, you can do it by leaving a tool belt slot empty and using that, but that costs you a spot. Having an option to "sheathe" your weapon/tool/etc. could be nice, though I personally wouldn't ever use it except on rare occasions.

I'll do it on a have that forces you to do so... games where talking to someone with a weapon out or walking around people with one out upsets people and maybe gets you attacked. But otherwise, I normally don't bother unless I need my hands.

Besides, in most games with weapons, I like the look of the weapons more than the hands (including in this game).

I farm in almost every playthrough I do so punching the crops is a lot faster than using tools. But when I do this activity, I typically have a fairly empty inventory except for seeds to replant after I harvest and the crops I am harvesting.
