Hey all,
I recently decided to try my hand at setting up a dedicated game server in my home, and of course the first game I decided to setup is 7d2d.
After I got the server up and running and started playing I began to notice the the zombie physics are very odd.
Whenever you knock down a Z, they typically fall down in slow motion at around 3 frames per second, so it looks like a bad stop motion animation.
I think its a similar behavior for other falling object in the game, such as falling structure blocks.
Does anyone have an idea of what could be causing the issue?
The system that runs the server is older hardware that I had laying around collecting dust, so I am not sure if my issue is hardware related or a network or software configuration issue.
The system has a earlier generation Intel i5 and 8GB of RAM, and a single 54000 RPM HDD. It originally came installed with Windows 8, but I wiped the original OS and installed Ubuntu 20.04 LTS. I am running the stable release 7d2d A20.
There is no GPU in the system.
Do I actually need one installed on the server in order to handle block physics calculations?
