Server memory leak

Blue mame

Refugee
Version
V2.6
Platform
Windows

Version: V2.6 (B14)

Environment: Windows + Linux

Vulnerability: Map memory leak + Entity memory leak

Symptoms: Memory usage increases exponentially over several tens of minutes and cannot be reduced.

Reproduction Steps: After four to five players have explored for about 30 minutes, memory usage will increase significantly. If 5 to 8 players survive on the map for 5 hours, memory usage can reach over 20GB.

Both Windows and Linux environments are affected, with Windows being the most severely impacted.

Don't say I didn't provide logs; the logs are absolutely fine. Follow my description and the video demonstration.

If you have the old ones, you can post those. If you have to retest to get new ones that would be fantastic, thank you!
Okay, I will provide a completely new log soon. Since it's currently 3 AM here, there aren't many players yet. I'll find some players to test it out tomorrow and then upload the full log. Please wait for me.(y)

No worries! Take your time! ☺️
No additional third-party mods are installed or loaded on the server; this is a pure vanilla game environment.

All zombie spawn settings and numbers are kept at game default values, with no manual increases or custom modifications.

The test was run on the official vanilla Navezgane map. If using an 8K high-resolution custom map, RAM usage would easily exceed 30GB, which is not a valid comparison reference.

This was a brand-new fresh world save, running continuously for approximately 2 hours.

There were around 9 active online players, with the remaining accounts AFK/idle.

No players placed any land claim blocks, forges, workbenches, or any player-placed blocks at all. These constructions are known to raise memory usage, and all such high-load behaviors were completely avoided in this test.

All players only engaged in world exploration and story missions, with no large-scale building, mass entity placement, or high-density player gathering.

There are no errors or warnings of any kind in the server logs. The logs have not been modified, edited, or tampered with in any way.

The server is running on a Linux system. Original raw logs cannot be downloaded externally, but they are fully retained on the server side and available for official staff to check, review, and verify at any time.

Thank you! Is everyone in the server experiencing the same thing? Can you try uninstalling and reinstalling the game? We had someone experience the same thing and that seemed to fix it.

Edit to add:
If this doesn't work, we have a new build coming in the near future that has some performance tweaks. Please let us know if you continue having issues after the build is officially out.
We will keep this on our radar in case more info comes in or we find a way to repro what happened. Thank you for your report!

This is from my newly installed Linux server, pulled from steamcmd, after I replied to your new log. This isn't just happening in my single test, but across all servers. I wouldn't be reporting this bug so confidently if I wasn't absolutely certain. Similar issues occurred in A17 or A18 before, and were quickly fixed.

I believe that if you developers can set up a server with 5 concurrent users, you will be able to obtain the parameters from that server.
