PC Screw this game (Console Version anyways)

I am so tired of being kicked off every 2 hours and having it be a mystery whether or not im going to start back up with half my stuff missing or not. I shouldnt have to quit and restart once an hour to avoid this error. This should have been fixed a long time ago.. prior to being released as a complete game on console. The creators are going to lose a lot of support this way, since they seem to neglect the console version. I was contemplating switching to PC for the newer versions, but these issues with console are really turning me away from the game all together. Get your ♥♥♥♥ together and stop focusing so much on adding things to the PC version that dont even need to be added!!!!!!! Like the gyrocopter..... while that is cool, what sense does it make to add a helicopter you can build from scratch to a survival game? i realize this is a touchy subject, so this is my personal opinion. Rant over, and this is me signing off of the game for a while. Maybe ill jump to the PC version once i have the required system requirements

The PC tech people are a totally different group than the console people, so nothing happening on the PC affects our build. If you're an xbox user I don't know if it would work, but if you're on PS4 try opening the playstation ports on your router. That stopped my crashes.

Best to take a break after a while. I did after my MD5 bug. I did try a friends server one night after a few beers. But I got bored. I'll probably comeback after a massive update that has blade traps or bicycle or some thing new.

Honestly, I could live with the 90 minute crashes on Xbox. They're annoying, but not a huge deal. It's the accompanying MD5's that make me wanna cry. Day 47, and we've already had two bases completely wiped out, even though I've been using the "delete your local save" strategy to avoid MD5's.

Awesome, another thread where it’s just okay to be completely ignorant... they have your money, kick rocks or learn a few things.

Yes however, it will most likely affect future business. If people who are interested in the game come to this forum before they buy to check it out, and they see all of the issues with it they are going to be less likely to buy the game. Creators need to stop thinking about the now and think about the future of this game, especially on the console. Put a bad taste in peoples mouths now and they are going to be less likely to come back once the game is complete

Exactly! and the MD5 thing seems to be completely random. Ive had it crash several times, booted back up with no issues. Just recently ive had things reset way too often

I plan on switching to PC for this game, i just need to get a better graphics card. Which is not in the budget right now ha. That way i can avoid the massive issues all together

Teach me, oh wise one! Every workaround I can find on these forums to avoid MD5 errors I've tried... unsuccessfully. The fact of the matter is, on XBox at least, they're sometimes unavoidable. This is a game-breaking bug. The fact that I (and many others) continue playing in spite of this bug is a testament to what is otherwise a great game. I WANT to continue playing it, but at the same time, I'm not a masochist who enjoys randomly losing everything and starting almost from scratch in mid to late game.

I’d say at this point it’s pretty simple. The moment I encounter my screen glitching out (inventory, forge, workbench) any menu that has an issue loading its full menu, I dashboard and delete local save data.

That, right now, is your main saving grace. I’ve had several md5... it’s as simple (to the player) as a loading issue. Yes, stopping and restarting helps every hour or two, but it can still happen. I’ve had an md5 happen as soon as I load into the game...

I’ve just tried to be as efficient as I can with dealing with the md5. Us on Xbox players get the short end of the stick because Microsoft. The games engine will need optimizing before the md5 will ever be fixed on console.

In short the OP can female dog and moan all they want but just kicking and screaming, ranting and crying, doesn’t solve anything. OP is frustrated but they don’t help the cause one bit...

Well it definitely isnt going to help blaming the developers on adding things to pc that is in alpha that is supposed to be the point of a alpha game to keep adding things to get a complete finished game. Then on top of that they are not even the ones working on the console so they are not neglecting console at all if they are not the ones working on console.

Even looking beyond the MD5 bug. Not much left to do. I got miles of tunnels all over private navezgane map. I got like 10 bikes. I got outposts and tons of guns. Its just boredom kicks in fast lately when I did play before the MD5 bug around day 240 or so. But I was due for a break in the game. I was playing it daily. Be a different story if new zombies were patched in or new traps added.

the 2 things you MUST do after a crash to prevant a MD5 is to first delete your local save files and then after you get the data resynced to start a save game OTHER than the one you were playing when you crashed. once that save is loaded, you can then quit that game and go back to your game. we are on day 111 without ANY lost data.

If your deleting a game save. How ya get the option to pick the game you were in? I figure once its gone its gone.

After you delete it, you sync cloud data to bring back the most recently saved version that was backed up to the cloud.

I've never tried it. It sounds like to much work just to play. I just bite the bullet. We're on day 330, only two md5. I'm pretty sure it was the explosives we were using to dig our underground base out. Once we stopped using those we haven't had one since.

exactly. and you have 4 save slots (at least XB1 has 4). i currently have 3 active saves: the private online game i play with my wife, a private online game i currently play solo, and a local creative game i use to test theories.

the only game that ever crashes is the one i play with my wife. when it crashes, i delete local save data. after the game resyncs, i first load my test game (since it doesn't mater if a MD5 hits it). then once it has loaded i quit that game and then load the game my wife and i play. we are on day 112. no data loss.
