As Roland said, and I mentioned as well, you should have no trouble getting to other biomes after a week (and I mentioned the times I was referring to were 1 hour days). I even suggested you might be able to get not to from the forest to the burnt forest, but even to the desert in the first week. However, you aren't likely to just go into the wasteland right away and even the snowy forest is likely to take a bit more time. These are, of course, my assumptions based on the little they have said. In any case, if you want to move on after a week, especially on longer days, you can do so. If you are specifically saying you want to move on to wasteland after just one week, then you might have trouble. But I think having something to keep people from rushing the end so quickly by just going into the wasteland to get the best equipment as quickly as possible is a good thing. It'll mean people have to adjust how they play if that's they way they do things now, but I still think it's a good thing. If people aren't reaching the end game equipment so quickly, they'll play each game longer before getting bored. That's a good thing. And it should solve your issue with not being able to keep your crafting caught up with looting (at least, it should be better).I didn't realize they would gate this in that way. I guess if they implement weather in a harsh way, it can easily be locked behind tiered armors to give you what you need to survive without constant debuff/damage. I don't have the patience to spend more than 7 days in a biome before I move on. I try to do 1 horde night per biome. I usually play on 90min or 2hr days, so that is 10.5-14 hours per biome which feels like a lot already. At that rate that's 40-ish hours before you'd hit wasteland which feels as grindy as I could stand. I almost never play beyond day 35 because I get bored of the map and would be 50+ hours on that game at that point.
