How about adding a workstation like an artist table with certaion added pen that unlocks the stationwhich  allows you to craft certain schematics or magazines after scrapping ones you dont want or already unlocked for blueprint paper as well as adding ability to craft blueprint paper using feather quill ink paper then use thses blueprint fragments to craft your wanted schematics or magazines.

Also Ammo crafting/dismantle station to craft ammo or dismantly unwanted ammo would use crafted mats such as casings tips eetc or could use straight raw materians adding the not sure what they are kind of like anvil to forge items would decrease craft time and amount of materials needed.

Why would you be able to scrap one magazine and then know what to write for a different magazine?  And if you already know what is in the magazine you want to create, then you already know the information in it and wouldn't need to make a physical copy.  There are times when gameplay trumps realism and times when realism trumps gameplay.  In this case, I think realism is more important.  If you want a way to get specific magazines, there could be any number of ways to do so that aren't as unrealistic.  I don't think we really need any other ways to get specific magazines since they are easy enough to get already.  And I personally like the randomness of the limited number schematics that are still in the game.  I miss that randomness for the rest of the stuff you craft that used to be schematics before magazines were added.

You can already craft ammo, so no need to make a new workstation to do craft ammo.  Being able to dismantle ammo instead of scrapping it so you can get the casings and tips could be nice, but even if they wanted to add that, there's no reason to make a new workstation.  They could even just do it through the normal scrapping option and give you the appropriate items.

In a sense it already exists. You can sell unwanted magazines to the trader and buy desired magazines from the trader, limited by availability. Other than that, I'm more sympathetic to Riamus' view ... it doesn't make sense to shred magazines to make another magazine of a different topic.

All you need is some new recipes, which is a simple modlet. I'd say the Workbench is already a good workstation for the job.

Whoops. I was wrong. You would need recipes that have three outputs and I don't think that's possible. If you only wanted tips or casings or gunpowder it would be possible today with the vanilla game.

I've seen it done in mods where it creates a package, and then you open the package and get gunpowder/casings/tips, so that's definitely doable.

Yeah, this is a pretty common mechanic in several overhaul mods, but it's one that never made sense to me. Like, I get it - it's a nice convenient way to make sure you are able to obtain the books you need for a cost, but somehow being able to scrap together a book about rifle crafting from pieces of cooking and mining books seems "cheaty". I lean toward more realism as long as it doesn't sacrifice gameplay, and I don't like the idea of this being implemented in vanilla.
