Gotcha, I noticed those, but I don't want to make it less difficult, just remove the gate at loot stage. If I remember correctly it tops out at 35 in the forest and never goes higher. I believe there was a setting previously that decouple max loot stage from biome.There are separate sliders for the impact biome has on game stage and loot stage. Think they're on the world and resources pages, respectively.
You can't set them to off but setting them to 'very low' should minimise the effect biomes have on gamestage and lootstage.
Unless you're talking about the lootstage cap per biome? That was removed quite a while ago when the loot system reverted to having per biome modifiers (under the cap system, difficult biomes no longer increased your lootstage, instead they had a higher cap, but the game has gone back to difficult biomes multiplying your base loot stage instead).
Understood. To my knowledge the hard cap on loot stage per biome isn't a thing any more. The hard cap only existed when the loot model shifted to not having biome multipliers at all. Maybe it's a mod and I am imagining it, but I was pretty sure it was in the old setting before you launched the game. I think they split the biome/game stage and loot into two settings that are connected to each other rather than keep the old loot/biome only toggle without affecting gamestage
What I truly want is the loot stage to not get hard locked based on the biome, because then that make late game questing in forest feel rather pointless
