PC Safe to ASSume resources are finite, correct?

I was asking because I find myself going out further for the surface nodes heh,
Just curious how many mines do you have going right now?? I usually start with 1 mine for each type of mineral, but what ends up happening is as I start mining out each one, I end up finding other types of minerals in there. So then the mine has multiple uses and I rarely have to create new ones unless I'm moving bases. In the end of my last run I probably only had 3-4 mines that I frequented that I still never fully mined out because I kept finding more or different ores.

Well, none really, about to start going deep.  I have just not been efficient and have only minned the node and the next couple of blocks.  Until now if I couldn't jump out it was already too deep :).  Baby steps.  Although it appears I should have been on rollerskates.

Ah ok! Yeah once you start actually making mines they last a pretty long time (at least for me) so long as you don't cause a cave in 😆

Is the concern that you'll get ambushed by zombies while mining? Or that climbing out would be a pain? I've seen some people's mines that go straight down that have ladders directly on the terrain to get out (which I didn't even know you could do, I had been attaching all my ladders to blocks that I place down)

Air drops and whatever you have your loot respawn set to is the limiting factor. Also Trees can easily be planted, so you technically never run out of wood if that is what you want.

Ore/Coal are the biggest limited resources, but there is a lot of metal to be scavenged in the game world. I highly doubt any has actually used every bit of iron on a map yet.

Coal? We didn´t even get close running out of coal on day 400 with 5 people on the map and 4 chemstations constantly producing gun powder. I remember i had 8 or 9 untouched coal nodes marked on the map when we quit that playtrough and there was surely more in areas where we basically never went, because there wasn´t any cities or POI´s there.

That was A18 though. But i don´t think the amount of ores changed much since A18.

I don't know if someone else mentioned this yet but if you have airdrops enabled and loot respawn timers enabled, then most if not all resources would then be technically infinite. Plus the traders...
