Rev's Simple Mods

WARNING:

You should uninstall any older Simple UI mods that were meant for an Alpha version of the game to avoid any conflicts.

All of the mods have been renamed and some function differently.

Simple UI (RW_SimpleUI)

By default this mod adds food and water bars to the left hud. Removes the food and water bars under the toolbelt. Moves the xp bar under the toolbelt and makes it bigger. Replaces the vanilla buff panel in the left hud with a simple one that can display up to thirty buffs. And displays toolbelt keys with backgrounds above each toolbelt slot. The toolbelt keys will display correctly no matter what hot key you set them to.

However this mod also contains seven different hud layouts and three buff panel choices per hud layout. For more on switching which hud layout you are using just check out the Simple UI HUD Switcher info below.

And for those that feel a little more adventurous there is a Simple UI Color Changer mod as well that is a template for making themes to recolor several of the elements Simple UI adds. I've included a vanilla theme as well for an example and for any crazy person that would want the faded out vanilla colors back on their huds stat bars.

There is also some Blocker mods for blocking Simple UI from using it's left hud or toolbelt just in case you wanted one part of the mod but not the other.

There is a ToolBelt Keys Remover for those that don't want the ToolBelt Keys displayed above their toolbelt.

Not to mention a few add-ons listed below as well.

Core Mod Features Overveiw

  • 7 different Hud layouts.
  • 3 Buff Panel choices per hud layout.
  • Easier to read and more vibrant hud stat bars.
  • Stamina bar icon is replaced with the sprint icon when sprinting instead of sprint icon appearing next to left hud.
  • Toolbelt Keys displayed above each toolbelt slot. (no matter what you set the hotkey to)
  • Compatible with Wookie's 12 slot toolbelt and Khaine's 15 slot toolbelt (You will not have toolbelt keys displayed though)
  • Plus a couple things I probably forgot

Simple UI (v4.0.1)

Simple UI Tools:

Hud Blocker (RWSUI_HUD_Blocker)

  • This mod will cause Simple UI to not use it's left HUD window.

RWSUI_HUD_Blocker (v1.0)

ToolBelt Blocker (RWSUI_ToolBelt_Blocker)

  • This mod will cause Simple UI to not use it's ToolBelt window.
  • WARNING: If using a hud layout with stat bars next to the toolbelt this mod will cause Simple UI to not use them as well.
  • Change the version number in this mods ModInfo.xml to 1.1 to also remove the food and water bars from the vanilla toolbelt.

RWSUI_ToolBelt_Blocker (v1.0)
HUD Switcher (RWSUI_HUD_Switcher)

  • This mod will cause Simple UI to switch it's hud layout based on this mods version number.
  • By default it will only cause Simple UI to switch to a detailed buff panel in the left hud. (v1.2)
  • Just change the version number in this mods ModInfo.xml to get Simple UI to switch it's layout.
  • Changes must be done before the game is launched in order to see them take affect.
  • More info and a list of version options can be found in a Readme.txt in the mods folder.

RWSUI_HUD_Switcher (v1.2)
HUD Switcher Bundle (RWSUI_HUDSwitcher_Bundle)

  • This is for all those that really don't want to edit the version number in the HUD Switcher.
  • This zip contains a bunch of folders named with each versions number (i.e. v1.0, v1.1, v1.2, v2.0, etc...)
  • Each HUD Switcher mod is preset with the version number of the folder it's in.
  • Just copy the RWSUI_HUD_Switcher folder of your choice into your Mods folder and you'll get the HUD layout for that version.
  • A brief description on the versions can be found in the Readme.txt inside any of the RWSUI_HUD_Switcher folders.

RWSUI_HudSwitcher_Bundle (v1.0)
ToolBelt Keys Remover (RWSUI_ToolBeltKeys_Remover)

  • This mod will cause Simple UI to remove the ToolBelt Keys and backgrounds displayed above the toolbelt.
  • Change the version number in this mods ModInfo.xml to 1.1 to only remove the backgrounds from the toolbelt keys.

RWSUI_ToolBeltKeys_Remover (v1.0)
Color Changer (RWSUIT_ColorChanger)

  • Template for changing some of the colors in Simple UI.
  • By default this mod makes no changes to Simple UI so that it can serve as a template for making Simple UI Themes.
  • All themes names should start with "RWSUIT_" and then your theme name. (i.e. "RWSUIT_ColorChanger", "RWSUIT_VanillaTheme", etc...)
  • This file just has set xpath lines preset with the default colors used in Simple UI's XUi_Common/styles.xml file.
  • This is to make it easier for anyone to change some of the colors in Simple UI without affecting the core mod.

RWSUIT_ColorChanger (v1.0)
Vanilla Theme (RWSUIT_VanillaTheme)

  • This theme changes all HUD bars and the toolbelt to use the same colors as in vanilla 7 Days.
  • Changes the Simple and Detailed Buff Panels to match.
  • Does not apply any changes to radial HUD bar backgrounds.
  • Also serves as an example of making a small theme using a copy of the color changer.
  • All entries from the color changer that weren't changed were removed in this theme.

RWSUIT_VanillaTheme (v1.0)

  • Increases Minibike storage to 40 slots.
  • Increases Motorcycle storage to 50 slots.
  • Increases 4x4 Truck storage to 90 slots.

For help with modding Simple UI yourself

Head over to the Unofficial Modding Discord post here on the Official 7 Days To Die forums.
Use the link in that post to join the unofficial modding discord.
Once you join the modding discord and can see all the channels just look for the #revs-simple-stuffs channel and I can answer all your questions on modding the mod there.
You can switch the HUD layouts in Simple UI without the HUD switcher but it requires copy pasting some files from within the RWSUI_xuiConfigs folder inside Simple UI.
You can also make your own basic custom stat bars and such pretty easy using simple ui without affecting the core mod itself but would require tinkering with the xmls yourself.
The configs in the RWSUI_xuiConfigs/_DEFAULT folder is what should be edited (i.e. BuffPanel.xml, leftHud.xml, ToolBelt.xml) and then don't use hud switcher.
The default configs are just copies from the other folders in RWSUI_xuiConfigs so long as you make edits to those copies you can always replace them with new copies and not affect the core mod or hud switcher from working.

Really like it.. Except is it possible to make the tabs in the bottom left (that switch between simple UI and vanilla) only show while inventory is open?

Thanks for the feedback. I might check into this when I fix up controller support. Won't be top on the list for a little though. 👍

The XP bar isn't actively tracking or showing XP it's just staying empty at all times, even when I swap back to vanilla UI the bar stays empty. When I remove the mod however the XP bar begins to work again just fine, so I think it's broken.

Everything else the UI does works fine though, it's just the XP bar.

Thanks for the feedback I will try and get a fix in either tonight or tomorrow, I think I see what I missed. It's been a bit since I tinkered with this game and don't actually play it anymore. Lol

Simple UI v2.0.3 Hotfix:

-(FIX) Fix for scaling issues with the toolbelt numbers, xp bars, and vanilla food and water bars.

Add-ONs Added:

Simple UI Crafting Queue - Increases crafting queue to 5 slots.
Simple UI Forge Input - Increases forge input slots to 3.
Simple UI Big Bag 60 - Increases backpack size to 60 slots and adds lockable slots.
Simple UI Big Bag 120 - Increases backpack size to 120 slots and adds lockable slots.

Thank you very much Stedman420, I love the simple UI and Big Bag 120, it goes perfect with my workstation mod.
Welcome back to modding.
Regards
Gouki

So in the next update anything affecting the toolbelt will be in it's own modlet and have it's own options to choose from, this will fix any scaling issues for good and make more options going forward easier to add, not to mention help with compatibility. This is all pretty much done however I could use some feedback on one minor detail concerning the text on the buttons.

Example 1

Example 2

251570-20230621143849-2.png

Just curious what everyone likes better just a number on the button like example 1 or abbreviations plus a number like example 2?

Ok majority consensus across several places came back in favor of the abbreviations plus numbers for button text. However there is Localization files included so changing this should be simple for others. Thank you to all those that provided feedback. Now on to update news.

Simple UI v2.1.0 Update:

-All tabs have abbreviated text and a number on them now. "LH 1" LH 2" "LH 3"

-Added an extra tab under left HUD (LH 2) so users can use Simple UI without detailed buffs.

-All toolbelt functions have been removed and placed into their own modlet. This was to fix any scaling issues for good and will make it easier to add features to either modlet in the future. This will also help with compatibility and make it easier for others to edit.

-Added a couple comments to the windows xml file on a couple things that should not be removed or renamed as well as a few notes on how buffs are handled. Everything in windows xml also has a name now for easier readability and modding.

Simple UI Toolbelt v2.0.0:

-All toolbelt functions have been released into it's own modlet.

-Toolbelt now has separate buttons and options.

There is also now alternate download links in OP so mod can be downloaded from Nexusmods or Github as well.

Update News:

My OCD got the best of me on all those panels above the bigger backpacks. I think I got most everything squared away.

New update for the backpack mods should be out tomorrow. Thinking I might release the info panel adjustments as a separate add on to the backpacks though in case they cause an incompatibility with another modlet, that way the backpacks could still be used without them as needed.

Simple UI Big Bags Update v2.0.1

-[FIX] added in adjustments for the completed Firemans Almanac book perk.

-[FIX] added in adjustments for the Night Stalker Thief Adrenaline book perk.

-[FIX A21 Only] Fix for new twitch encumbered debuff so the completed Firemans Almanac perk doesn't override it.

-Slightly adjusted position for currency icon and amount in backpack header.

-Also added to and cleaned up a few comments in the xml files.

Add-Ons Added

Simple UI Info Panels 60 - Increases several info panels size to match the 60 slot backpack.

Simple UI Info Panels 120- Increases several info panels size to match 120 slot backpack.

Both the above new add-ons are meant to compliment the Simple UI big bag mods as they will match the backpacks new window size. However like all the other add-ons they can be used without any other modlets and have no dependencies.

All add-ons so far merely adjust window and/or grid sizes and do not replace any vanilla windows at all.

^Coming in the next update in another day or two. All text and links can be easily edited in the Localization txt included. The xml should be fairly easy to read and edit as well.  And I promise, no character frame window controllers were harmed in the making of it 🤣

Simple UI Toolbelt v2.1.0:

-[FIX] Tabs around toolbelt no longer show when using a vehicle.

-Another tab has been added to toolbelt so the Simple UI version can be used without the toolbelt numbers.

-Simplified the localization text file.

New Mods Added:

Simple UI Server Info Window - Adds a tabbed server info window that shows when hitting esc.

Simple UI VBP Lockable Slots - Adds lockable slots to the vanilla backpack.

Simple UI VVS Lockable Slots - Adds lockable slots to the vanilla vehicle storage.

Simple UI No Main Menu News Panel (NoMMNP) - Removes the news panel from the games main menu

I've also change the format a little in the OP, hopefully this makes it a little easier to navigate and find mods.

Ok I removed all A20 modelts from the OP and will no longer be supporting them since A21 is now stable. However they can still be found on github and under older versions at Nexusmods.

All modlets now in the OP were made for and work with A21 including A21 stable.

I will try and update the screenshot at some point as well as add some more.

Is it possible to get a version of the toolbelt mod with just the numbers added and xp bar moved to bottom, without the multiple toolbars?

Hahaha, back in this mods origin I used to have to make several versions since everyone was asking for this change or that. Then I got smart at some point and just made it so it could be changed on the fly. Now that I've done that we have come full circle back to no options, the joys of modding 🤣

To answer your question though yeah I will throw together a no options version of the left HUD and toolbelt for those that want the default UI changes without the options. Prob later today or tomorrow.

To all I also have a couple vehicle storage mods that will go up at same time.

New Mods Added:
Simple UI No Options (NO) - Same default Simple UI look minus any buttons or options
Simple UI Toolbelt No Options (NO) - Same default Simple UI Toolbelt look minus any buttons or options
Simple UI Vehicle Storage - Increases all vanilla vehicle storages.
Simple UI Vehicle Storage XL - Increases all vanilla vehicle storages to 90 slots.
