Request to change the Nerd Helmet Bonus so it's not the meta

For context, I play only on MP servers, never SP. I would love for the EXP bonus to be removed from the Nerd helmet so the Nerd Hat isn't the meta. No one on my server wants to pass up the exp boost, especially not early on, And as a result everyone is stuck wearing that dorky looking hat. I would love it if the perk was moved to a non-cosmetic mod so we can casually use different gear and customize our look without the EXP FOMO.

Maybe I'm alone in this, but would love your thoughts and hopefully the ear of the pimps.

It sounds like the upcoming cosmetic update might give us the ability to switch looks independent of actual gear; that could solve the issue already.

Since the introduction, it's been an armor and bonus balance issue, not the Nerd hat in particular.

If I had my way, all the arcade bonuses would be implemented by Armor mods...

If that's true then that would be an amazing solution! Or just shift the major perks to mods and have smaller bonuses in the armor sets. I do like having a reason to wear one set over another, but i shouldn't have to feel like im missing out on the meta by not choosing one specific hat or promoting cigars :p

There are people who can think, and there are those who can only repeat after someone. A bonus to experience is a very dubious bonus, especially after the appearance of the journal system. But a bunch of streamers and bloggers still consider experience important, and a herd of people who can't think repeat after them. So this is not a problem with the game, but a problem with a bunch of people who consider someone else's opinion more important than their own experience.

Personally, I think the best armor is a full priest set. And for a number of reasons, you will have a hard time convincing me otherwise.

I'm not sure you understand how stupid you sound, but assuming people are a herd who can't think for themselves because they think differently than you is pretty moronic. My grievance against the system stands. Just because you have your own reasons for liking a different set doesn't change that. And I really don't care about convincing you that priest armor isn't best because that's not my job. You're free to play how you want for the reasons you want. That's called being a normal, non-insufferable human being. Try it.

Think? Most people don't think at all. And this is noticeable not only in games. And the longer I live, the more convinced I am of this. If 15 years ago, when answering a question, people cited some of their own experience as arguments, now they often throw a link to some video with the phrase "everything is explained there", and the video was not made by them. They don't have their own thoughts, only someone else's.

What you think doesn't alter reality and frankly no one cares. Everything you are saying is based on prejudice inspired assumptions. It's neither reality nor relevant.

You are probably at each others throat because of a misunderstanding: @Suxar is arguing from the viewpoint of a single player/co-op player, @dex314 from the viewpoint of a PvP player. I am only assuming this, mentioning it might be a way to avoid misunderstandings. Co-op players are playing multiplayer as well, but for them xp is not the most important stat. Saying MP as if it was identical to PvP leads to confusion

You are both right as the meta is different for SP/co-op and PvP.

This late in the games development I doubt they will redesign the armor system again, but balancing work is still in the cards.
