The entire world set up menu is to control how others play in your world. Wantingbto be able to turn that off in a server is not a horrible request
There is a difference, at least with the majority of game options we have. If you want to play the game yourself with longer days, you can't just do so without having an option. If you want to play without zombies, you can't do so without having an option. If you want to have more or less experience, loot, etc., you can't do so without having an option. On the other hand, if you want to play without spawning near your backpack, you can already do so. There's no need for changes because you already have that choice. And, yes, a small number of options could be done without the option, but not many.
Besides, I already said people can run their servers however they want. But suggesting removing the option is wrong. Yes, they also suggested an option, but they included removing it entirely. If they only suggested it as an option, then I probably wouldn't even have replied. Any suggestion to remove something entirely is attempting to control how everyone plays, not just how people who play on your server play.
And in the end, forcing people to play your way, even when it's your own server, is just a power trip. It's one thing to set up the game so when you are playing, you can play it the way you want, and let people join you using those settings if they choose. But if they join you and play their own way, trying to force them to play differently when how they are playing doesn't have any impact on your own game is kind of dumb. If it was competitive, such as PVP, then that's different. If you are trying to do some kind of contest or something, where people have to follow specific rules and see how quickly they can do something or how long they can survive or something, then that's different. But for a co-op game, if someone is not running for a long time just to be able to get their stuff so they can continue to play the game versus just grabbing their stuff quickly, in what way does that impact your own game? The OP told people not to spawn near the backpack and they didn't want to play that way, so now the OP wants to force them to play that way. If it's such a problem, they can always just kick the players who don't follow the rules.
In addition, the option isn't really going to change much considering that if they don't put down a bedroll, they'll spawn near where they died no matter what setting is used unless the game changes that for everyone else, which means that even making this an option will impact every other player who doesn't use bedrolls.
Anyhow, servers can run things however they want, as I said before.
