Regarding the strength relationship between shock batons and Junkturret

Shock batons and robotic turrets were introduced in Alpha 18 as weapons scaled to the Perception stat. Stat-wise, the shock baton had a base damage of 10.8, while Junk Turret rounds dealt 11.8 damage. The Junk Turret was clearly designed to function as a firearm with firepower on par with the shock baton.
However, in the current build, the shock baton received a massive buff, having its damage values copied directly from the baseball bat, yet the robotic turret received no matching power boost. Ironically, even when the Junk Turret is loaded with shotgun shells, its total output still falls below that of the shock baton.
I also find the Genius Glove’s effect baffling—it only applies damage bonuses to held melee weapons, meaning only the shock baton actually benefits from its damage boost. The turret’s ammo recipe was also switched to lead. It has a maximum range of 15 meters, yet its accuracy is worse than regular shotguns, as it inherits hip-fire spread values entirely. Players have to rely on foregrip mods, shotgun choke mods, and skills that reduce movement penalties during reloading just to shrink its pellet spread.
This turret has never been overpowered, yet it keeps getting nerfed time and time again. What was your design reasoning behind these changes? Is the team balancing weapon power now the same group that worked on Alpha 18? As a player who mains this build, I’m really disappointed.

As a fellow Intellect main myself i don't even use the sledge or turret, i consider them to be that bad.

The only purpose they serve is to assist with horde night and have no business being used while clearing POI's as they are defensive in nature.
The day i need to defend a POI is the day they become useful.

...junk turrets are incredibly OP. I can clear a T6 quest just by dropping 2 junk turrets with AP ammo and watching them slaughter everything.

Are they good as a standalone firearm? I have no idea, why would you ever use them like that?

While it is somewhat clunky as you have to set them down somewhere and take them up again quite often, the turrets are really deadly.

As an INT player just take any weapon (shotgun, AK, pistol) where you never put any perkpoint into and shoot at the zombies together with the turret, combining their damage. Best used with the shotgun as it has the best crowd control.
Or simply run around trying to evade zombies while your turret whittles them down.
Or combine it with the shock baton who is used for crowd control while the turret blasts away at shocked zombies.

The only thing I never understood is that some players seem to use the turret as a handgun???? It doesn't surprise me that that will give a subpar experience.

I'm always willing to be proved wrong, so i guess i will give them another chance when i can play the new update.
Its been years since i stopped bothering with them so most of my current knowledge comes from watching how bad they are when content creators use them.

My evidence is just from me and one friend who thinks turrets are very strong as well.

At the same time they are difficult to use. You have to find the right location to set them down, I often put them down too late. And it is too late when zombies are already running at you ;). And you always have to remember to reload them (another sore point with me). I often use the sledge turret even when the gun turret is already available because I can always rely on its crowd control and I don't need to work for the ammo.
