PC Recog: Ranged damage +50 percent. What defines ranged damage?

Looking through the sights? Is a scope  required? Minimum distance?

IIRC ranged damage is pretty much anything that isn't melee. So if you use a gun, that is ranged. Bows are ranged. Don't think explosives count though.

Explosive arrows are freaking awesome. Turns a bow or a crossbow into a friggin rocket launcher
