You guys have turned this game into a dumpster fire bahahah look at social media everywhere every comment every video everyone is hating on this pathetic game. No, you don’t do the actions of skills you are trying to level up, you just endlessly search the same poi’s for magazines lmfaoo. No, you don’t have to strategically plan out where to build your base to access fresh water to move it around and purify it, you build a dew collector like we’re playing Dune and get screamers at your base every morning lmaooo. No we won’t spend time and resources making it split screen because that’s less sales everyone should buy their own copy. And yes we over promise a bunch to sell more copies then drag our feet on the updates because it won’t pump out millions more. Greedy pathetic devs may as well be playing Ark.

I don't know why, but I get so much joy from the ranting of sad, attention-seeking gamers. Also, nothing about TFP strategy makes them greedy. In fact the regular delays are likely costing them money in sales, not making it. Greedy would be charging full AAA pricing. Greedy would be charging money for future core updates after 1.0. Greedy would be requiring players to re-purchase the game after early-access. TFP are doing none of this.

You don't like the game. Cool. I don't like a lot of games that I've tried in the past. You know what I do? I don't play or recommend them. Ranting on a forum is probably the least useful thing you could do. But hey, thanks for the fun read!

Exactly this.

If you don't like it, play another game or play an older alpha if you're on Steam.  Don't like magazines?  Mod them out.  Don't like having no jars?  Mod them in.  Not on PC so can't mod the game?  That's on you.  Plenty of people love the game and it's continuing to do well.

And Ark was very boring.  This game is much better, imo.  Of course, I didn't play Ark until the end game because it was so boring, so perhaps it gets better later.  But I wasn't going to slog by way through it to reach the end game just to see.  But you know what I didn't do?  I didn't go to their forum and complain about the game.  I just stopped playing it.  Why waste my time on something I don't like?

Day 4 and I finally got my first screamers to show up.  Nothing much to them, I heard them, hunker down since it was past 3 am, and let the day start.  Then I dropped down and took them out.  One did get the scream off, but that was because I momentary forgot how to stabby stabby

The wandering horde that swung by at 5am as I was getting ready to start the day was more of a challenge.

I agree but I do like how it rewards you for looting

However I think what they should have done was a hybrid of learn by leveling and the magazines

You get perk points And skill points

For every 5 levels you get 5 skill points to invest in whatever items/teirs you wish

But water could have been done better Like in some mods were boiling water takes much much longer and stacks are lower

But aside from that and the game needs more tiers, zombies, vehicles, npcs. The game is great

I'm fairly confident that split screen isn't a thing because the consoles can barely run the game with one screen? I might be wrong here, but I am curious just for the laughs to see how a console would run a split screen game. If a QA tester could please post a video of this pretty please! 😎

Sorry, no video can ever be made with split screen, as both of the consoles don't have near enough headroom on the GPU, ram, or CPU. Maybe if the game was running at a 100x100 resolution on a 512m map, maybe, but doubtful even then. There's a reason why split screen is rare and mostly dead. Last time I tried splitscreen with a friend for science was on a call of duty, and it ran maybe 10 - 15 FPS and the resoluton/texture scaling was so bad it was hard to tell what was what and you couldn't even read text, and that was if it didn't crash after a few seconds into a match lol.

Console hardware just doesn't support it anymore outside of 2D games.

I loved split screen back on the Nintendo 64 with Goldeneye and Perfect Dark, good times!
It was a struggle in 2016 playing 7 days with split screen on PS4, so I'm not remotely surprised TFP "removed" it.

Yeah back then the games weren't near as demanding as games now and the consoles had the hardware to support it. It's not that we removed it, it was never in the base game (non telltale version). We did the numbers on it as we wanted to support it, but it would instantly crash running out of resources.

You should've definitely threw a few more lmao's in there. I almost took it seriously but there weren't enough lmao's to convince me you meant what you said.

Also the fact 99% of your posts are about jars being removed says it all.

Ikr? It's like seeing someone at a restaurant having a literal meltdown because some of the recipes got changed years ago. It's kind of glorious, honestly. 😛

They can and will show up Day 1 for certain, I play in a group and we always try to get production going as soon as we can make a forge, plus trying to cook food and drinks for 4+ people.

Mileage may vary depending on your playstyle.

if you play on PC and it frustrates you enough to write that paragraph, surely you can turn that into something constructive and download a few mods and tweak a few settings at game start to solve your problems.

Regardless when they show up (I've never seen them on day 1), they aren't even remotely challenging.  They are some of the easiest to kill zombies, and once you understand how to run up on them quickly and kill them before they scream, you normally can avoid dealing with any others.  And if they do scream, so what?  You get easy experience.  And if you really don't want to deal with them, just leave the area.  They'll be gone when you return, as long as you went far enough away for the chunks to unload.  You can even just put up some spike traps around the corners of your base and they'll kill themselves for you.

Yes, they can be a pain when you're trying to do something and they show up to bother you, but they aren't a big deal.  The only time they have much chance of being an actual problem is if you're in a large POI and they call a lot of zombies while you're unable to go out and kill them, which can make it so you need to fight a lot more enemies as they come in to get you.  But that's also not really a big deal.  Free experience and a bit of extra challenge.  Hardly a bad thing.
