Ravenhearst Mod

Hello,

Not sure if I miss something but the new addition of hinges poses a real problem for me - not only they are not craftable but you find near none (breaking doors *should* give some....)

Result: new player (at a new game ) has no decent storage - and with the droprate I cant see how to get the needed number of hinges at mid-endgame.

An unfortunate (and imo, unnecessary) gate

hi, there are some boxes in the personal bench that don't require hinges. we have more hinges than we can build with atm on our mp game from breaking down doors. are you positive you're updated?

Yes, why would I need hinges if not :)

And yeah, one hinge every 4ish door....breaking storage chests - none, - so 8(ish) doors for one new chest/box

At new start this is extremely frustrating (I'll admit, I AM a loot hoarder,,,)

normal house doors and commercial doors give 1-2 on destroy.... and not every box needs hinges, get creative ^^

 
I am thinking about installing the mod. Are things like this explained anywhere? Sounds impossible to figure out without any explanation.

My very first chicken was a male. I can't figure out what table to use to combine the pigs for a piglet though. Anybody?
You have to craft a pig in the farm table first. tne press E on that pig to make a piglet.

Not craftable, you find them in POI's (garages)

Hinges... :D

I was so mad when realised i can't build simple storage box or doors without this new component,thought "where in the world i can find those!" and then i decided to destroy some doors in POI's,and they gave me a hinge,it felt sooo rewarding! :D

Also what i noticed, how hard it is to conquer any POI(especially in the beggining),so many zombies around them,and they just keep coming.

Ideas like these makes the mod and whole game absolutely awesome,and so much more enjoyable!

I will it was just late already, and I was thinking about those questions while at work.What about the low XP for some zombies, will that be answered too? Looked like a bug
Hello and welcome. To answer your question about zombies giving different xp. You will find the Zombies that give you lower XP are the ones you can one/two shot them later in the game. The zombies that give high xp takes longer to kill. Just think of zombile levels. Newbies 1 or 2 shots. normal zombies more hits to kill, Veterans (unique hair, cloths they are wearing) and the ferals (hard to kill) there the ones running in the daytime.

Now to my problem. I can't seem fo find any good maps. Generated 5 different 8K maps so far. All turns out with no major citys or towns, only small villages with like 10-15 poi's and not many commercial buildings. Lots of huge areas with nothing at all to.

Any suggestions?

I am sorry but the respawn is silly. Try clearing, cannot clear run away and zombies chase you. Come back and re-pop. The mechanic of respawn is broken.

Is there a way to make POI respawn more realistic?

I bet it is a vanilla thing, when you leave a poi without have cleared all, the spawn is reset. For sure the ones you didn't kill in the first place.

When you run into a poi you can often see them spawning in front of you, or worse behind you ;)

It sure is borked in vanilla but they did a pretty good job of making it better here. And thanks for the tip, I'll try that seed now. After my post yesterday I also generated a seed named "RH190324"

also looks pretty good if anyone else need a decent map.

 
5.1 for 17.2 Now Available

5.1 is finally now available on the Launcher for 17.2. 5.0 is still available at the same links for 17.1 and you can choose not to upgrade, but 5.1 does contain a number of fixes and QoL balances to make it worth starting a new.

Work is well underway on 5.2 which will be out TRUE conversion of 17 into the Ravenhearst you all know and love. Many mechanics, items, monsters and pois will be back then and it will be a totally different and unique experience. We are still weeks or months away from that though. So enjoy 5.1 in the meantime and head to our Discord to participate in discussions.
