Randomly keep walking forward

Sometimes when walking or tapping my w key my character will just keep walking forward even if I am not pressing w and will keep doing it until I press w again. As you would guess this causes problems when fighting zombies as I sometime move towards when I don't want to. Also a pain if you are on a base and walking to the edge and there is nothing to stop you.

I have checked to see if there is anything turned on to repeat keys but haven't found anything. Is it my keyboard, the game? I don't know but it is starting to get real annoying. Was wondering if anyone had had the same problem and if so how they fixed it.

 
Not on linux

And damocles that could be entirely possible but don't think it is the reason
