Problem Loading game .. load screen freezing on prefabs

Was playing game all fine then a few days ago i could not start the game, it is freezing on the loading screen prefabs .. random % complete... i was playing v1.3, tried a fresh install no luck .. deleted all save games and worlds .. still freezes ... rolled back to v1.2 and still freezes ... 

Tried verifying game in steam it fails with one file, downloads and installs but if verify again it once again fails .. game still fails to load 

Do not know what to try next?

 
I would verify your files through Steam a couple of times and add a windows security livescan exclusion to the install and save folders

I concur. A lot of warning indicating an issue accessing files and the web.

The Pinned Support FAQ thread has information on why, and how to exclude the client and save folders from security software. If you say "I don't have any", then you have Windows Defender or whatever they are calling it now.

First do the exclusions, and then validate your files a few times. Steam rarely fixes things on the first or second try.

 
Done this an it seems to have made some difference, steam verify still fails first time but passes second time .. but game still fails to load during the prefabs initializing, do you want the new logs?

 
So quick update .. i tried running the game, froze on prefab load ... i verified the game (one file failed to verify) and tried starting a game ... it froze again. I verified the game again one file failed to verify ... verified again right after and verification was good ... started a game and it froze again ... i went through the same process only did a third verify that seemed to download a file ... started a game and it loaded in ok ... quit the game and tried to start it again ... game froze at prefab load ... went through the same process and after three verifications i could start the game ok?

I have played this game for years on this same laptop, more that 2000 hrs ... nothing has been changed on this machine in the last week .. last week was playing fine, this week this issue suddenly appeared ... not installed any new software, made any config changes ....  any ideas for a better long term solution?

 
(I'm not at home, so I can't validate what my game says about...)

Navezgane from 2.0? Is that usual in a 1.3 game?

 
This issue has only started since i updated to 1.3 ... i was running 1.2 fine ... but now even if i roll back to 1.2 it still has issues. 

I would assume a 1.3 version should not be trying to load anything from 2.0 version!!!!

Are you sure it's actually freezing? Your laptop seems older now if you put more than 2000 hours on it. How is your storage drive? Is it an ssd or hdd? Also how full is it? When a app takes too long on certain tasks, it'll say it's unresponsive and ask you to kill it, but usually if you just wait it'll kick in.

Also Navezgane, when edited, is done in Unity which we work on our own versions internally to keep things separated from what would go to version 1 for you all, so that's why it says 2.0, nothing to worry about there

 
If i verify three times i can run the game on medium settings no problem .. plenty of storage, all drivers up to date ... this was a beefy gaming laptop when i bought it and handles game fine for a long time ... this all began when i updated to 1.3 ... 

So you long term solution is buy a new machine!!!! really????

No, I'm asking about your storage drive, as they are the first and easiest part in a computer to go out and slow down significantly as they age. Did you check to see if it's actually freezing? It does look like things take a long time to load in your log, so it really may not be frozen. And make SURE you have exceptions set properly for the install folder and the save folder.
