I would like to revert to an older Alpha version and I am wondering if that is still possible. If so, where can I find the thread on that topic?

<click> on properties.

<click> the Beta tab.

<click> on the bar below "Select the beta you wish to opt into:"

[select] which past build you want.

I must screw that up royally because I could never get any of them to download using this method.

Be sure to read the last posts (dated 3 march 2020) in that thread too if your download fails with an error message about a manifest missing.
