Prefabs and News from TopMinder A17(Tom)

The following commands can be used to generate the mesh files exactly the same way we would have in A16 with Hals mod/empty world:

Prefab Simplify

Prefab Combine

Prefab Export

There is a hastily put together video I done for some friends creating and editing the meshfiles for some custom prefabs

Sleepers are not too hard to configure, initially I copied a volume from another prefab in to the XML of the prefab I was working on, then using the editor to view the sleeper volumes I was able to move/resize/reshape it. Selecting the volume (it turns green) and pressing K opens up the configurable options (spawn group/size) and I believe you can configure each individual sleeper too by actually getting close to the corpse block and hitting 'E'.

Creating a selection zone and pressing F6 may allow you to create a fresh volume (can't remember off the top of my head),exploring this more is on my to-do list.

I'm hardly an expert but I believe that with the basics above you can start to experiment.

thanks for this Videotutorial. It is very good and helpful. I will try this all at weekend.

I hope that i can get this Prefab ready with all the things to insert it in Random Gen.

 
Sry for the missing download Links. The Prefabs are Error free, but theres a problem with spawning error free in RWG. But now i think we have found a solution for it. I post it to Magoli and must wait until he has confirmed it as a solution. If not i must search again for the errors. Only if everyting is errorfree i can give you the Links.

Here i give you the Link for the Shoppingcenter.

Perhaps there is someone who can test it, if it fit´s into the RWG.

On my Server it is ok. There are some entrys in the xml i don´t understand 100%,

and i used the simple lines of an old wildwest style Prefab.

You must copy this Prefab on your Server (if you are playing with a Server)

AND on your HomePC !

The Mapping File must be on every Volume where it is loaded, else there comes an missing mapping Error.

sorry - can't load it in ingame-POI-editor

we talked about this earlier but I still havent any solution for this Issue.

I also have here the 2nd case of this Issue in the CP-thread. Still puzzled what this could be.

Can anybody else load this in the ingame-POI-editor ???

You think you're allowed to keep these nice textures? Your happiness won't last long my dear. TFP don't tolerate nice and clean looking prefabs. :p

love your prefabs man. have added so many to my custom world only one and a quarter towns in haha. looks like i need to update some of them.

 
Thanks for your friendly words. We would like to build something new again, but are prevented by the continuous changes to blocks and textures from version to version of it. At least the planning for a new building is already in progress.
