Prefab Editor (Alpha)

I wonder if Hal's editor does have an auto-scroll function. I just tried it and wasn't able to find it. In order to enable auto-scroll you could deactivate the 'Mouse wheel changes layer' option (extras -> options -> View) but then you cannot switch the layer using the mouse wheel. Maybe it's feasible to implement click and drag with left mouse button but that would be tricky imo. Perhaps copying Hal's solution is the best approach.^^

There is a copy layer option on the tools tab. It's called replace layer though.

Changelog v0.3q_b (July 31, 2017):

- added button to copy texture to all texture text fields (see screenshot)

- fixed: import prefab function didn't reset all textures

Either use the buttons (red circle) to copy the textures to all text fields or double click on the texture list (blue circle).

I thought HAL's had that feature, maybe not. Idk how hard it would be to code, but what about, clicking and holding the mouse wheel to drag also. I'm guessing a lot of us have gaming mice, about what making the button selectable in the settings? I'm not a coder so I don't know how difficult either option would be, just throwing a couple of ideas out there.

The last patch broke the import function. Sorry for this mistake. The new update (0.3q_c) should fix the problems.

Still having delete column/row issues, fyi.

I know they weren't in your "fixed" list, but thought I'd tell ya anyway. =)

 
Have you noticed that you can use the export function to resize prefabs? Of course a fix of the delete column/row function would be better but Pille is a busy man atm, you know. ;)

I work around the issue by saving every few column/row deletes.

Edit: Sooooo close to finish my mcdowells prefab. You guys are going to love it. I was prepping installation instructions last night but then 16.2 dropped......T_T

Need to do one round of validation testing.

I didn't see 16.2 drop, I'll have to update my server. My game is still on 16.1... and it's set to auto update.

 
Yeh I save every delete, but sometimes it happens on the first delete. Pille, what can we provide you with to track this down?

 
I think I've everything I need, thanks. As already mentioned, 'if everything goes well the electricity update will be shipped this week and then I do have time to fix this crappy function'. Up until then, please use the export tool instead.

So I"m working on a combat arena/challenge course... I have a 200x200 block area. I wanted to import another prefab into this area, but I get an error that my current prefab is too small. Required is 45x40x47 blocks. How is this possible?

Your prefab is not high enough. The height is 30 blocks but should be 47. Click on front view, then tools tab -> insert rows and add the 17 missing layers.

Edit:

You're still using version 0.3. I recommend you to install the latest patch.

Those buttons are disabled, yes. However copy and paste works. Use Control + C (ctrl + c) to copy the selected blocks to the clipboard. Press Control + V (ctrl + V) to paste the copied blocks. Press V to show to clipboard (if your cursor is over the grid).
