Please reconsider how to handle the JaWoodle thing.

I made this account for the sole reason to tell the FunPimps one last time that based on their behavior with Jawoodle they can take all their game titles and shove em. Josh tried to get you some excitement to revive your title after and embarrassingly bad streak of missteps for your team. This problem of DEVs thinking they know whats best is not just you though, its all the dev studios making all these half baked dev as you go but pay us now experiences. Creators like Josh give us a heads up on when you finally pull your head out of the deep hole you buried it in, and for his trouble you punish him but not just a slap on the hand, no you give him multiple strikes. So let me just drop this idea here for the rest of you, they tried to take Josh's channel down, so just stop playing their game, they clearly don't care what we think nor do they care for the support a devoted creator has given them faithfully hoping they would LISTEN to a community that liked what they initially saw. These devs wont do better until they have some real consequences. I see funpimps I don't buy.

and for those of you saying Josh is in the wrong for the bandits stuff its been in the game files for a long time, available assets that modders and anyone else could see. That being said funpimps "DEVS" if you don't want it seen don't put it in the live files, software 101.

I simply do not, and will not, accept that he didn't know bandits weren't in 3.0
Is anyone arguing that? I didn't see his video, but my understanding is that he mentioned they appeared to be a work in progress. I would imagine his thought process was that if its in the build they sent him and accessible, even if through the creative menu, then it was fair game for his videos. I probably would've come to the same conclusion, as things in the creative menu had been shown before without causing such a fuss (anyone remember the behemoth?)

Woodle himself is, from the comments he made in his recent video. He claimed ignorance when it came to bandits not being in 3.0. He did mention in the original 3.0 video that it seemed they weren't complete, but again, with the title and thumbnail he used it he made it seem they were coming in 3.0.

Behemoth was a long time ago, and before BI was involved. And the behemoth never made it into the game so the devs may have known by the time someone showed it off that it was going to be cut so no big deal. To be fair, TFP could've been clearer about not showing any features not in 3.0, but they never meant to ship anything not in 3.0 out to creators so they likely didn't feel the need to state that. But still, they sent a 3.0 preview out for creators to show off 3.0 features. The coop and bandits weren't 3.0 features, period. I kind of think the final straw was not only that he showed these features but how he used them for clickbait, which would have lead to a lot of confusion for users when they got 3.0 a few days later and had no bandits or coops. Showing it was bad enough, but basically lying about what was in 3.0 to get more views is probably what made TFP feel they had to act.

To add food for thought about this, nobody was ever sued or copyright struck for showing the hostile chickens that were in the F6 menu months ago but only actually appeared in game a few days ago.

Regardless it falls to TFP to make sure they don't put things in places creators may accidentally show them on stream or even just where players might find accidentally.

Consider this hypothetical:

JaWoodle or another creator gets the build with the material in question and goes live during the Streamer Weekend and everything is business as usual. Later in the stream they want to test the damage added by a perk or a mod or a new weapon or effect so they enable Debug Mode and press F6 to spawn a zombie and while they're scrolling, the name of the classified material is literally just on screen. Perhaps again, in completely good faith, the creator just misclicks and spawns one in while live.

Now that information is out there due to a simple mistake EVEN under a circumstance in which a creator knows the feature's not meant to be in 3.0 because the information was not secured reasonably by TFP. If the creator had to go digging in the game files and make a modification to enable them then sure that falls on the person who did that. But TFP should have been able to foresee the hypothetical I just laid out and act to prevent it. With the common sense that game developers would only put features in their game that are accessible with basic commonly used debug features like spawning zombies, it could then very easily occur to this creator that "If this is available this easily, they're not trying to hide it" and assume the content is fair game to be shown.

I'm not saying that's what happened, I'm saying that these hypotheticals were recklessly not even considered. Streamer Weekend was sloppily managed and they are placing that blame on a third party. There's probably a dozen different guard rails that TFP could have put in place to prevent this situation from occurring (NDA's, actually giving out the right build, actually telling the creators specifically what they could cover, actually engaging 1 braincell etc etc) but TFP chose to do it sloppy and then base everything on an unwritten honour system. And honestly that's fine. But I think CHOOSING to do everything so casually and laid back and then getting lawyered TF up when a mistake occurs is just unreasonable.

For example, Unknown Worlds did the same thing, leaving future material in the game in a way that it could be spawned by everyone and they clearly were upset by the leaks but they didn't go around copyright striking it because they acknowledged it was their error.

For his trouble? He profits off of this, don't forget that. The video he made early in 2.0 that caused the ■■■■storm is one of his most viewed videos. From what Woodle said, he got one strike, not multiple. Also didn't try and take down his entire channel. And again, for the millionth time since you fanboys don't seem to care, Woodle had a choice to avoid all of that. His hands were not tied.

But they sent him the build specifically to showcase 3.0 features, not everything else. Doesn't matter if the story mode was in the files, that wasn't what he was given the build to make content on. He wanted to farm clicks, so he did what he did.
To add food for thought about this, nobody was ever sued or copyright struck for showing the hostile chickens that were in the F6 menu months ago but only actually appeared in game a few days ago.
I wouldn't consider this remotely the same. Aren't the hostile chickens basically the same as the murder chickens used by Twitch events that's been around for a while now? Even if not, chickens have been in the game forever, so not a great example.

And I'd bet TFP would have handled that a bit differently, if they did anything at all. Big difference between accidentally clicking something and making several clickbait videos/shorts about it. His original video, if you never saw it, was titled "7 Days to Die 3.0 is WAY BIGGER Than I Expected". Half of that video was bandits, and a decent chunk of the rest was the coop. There was no way TFP weren't going to do something about that. And again, quite a bit different than a simple misclick in a stream.
