PS Playing on old world after new update.

My wife and a couple of my friends have a world's that we have been playing on since the game launched. After the 2.0 update we weren't able to play on it. However, I guess something changed TFPs minds about whether they should find a way to make them playable. We spawned into our old house to find half of another house had spawned into it (cobweb cottage). This wasn't that big of a deal because we just rebuilt the house and placed more land claim blocks. What is a problem is now the traders will not spawn on the correct locations. We have tried to use the chunk reset option, and have had no luck. We are playing on PS5 and I just wanted to ask if any one else has experienced this and if they found a way to fix it. Any help would be appreciated, thanks. Attached picture is where the game says Rekt is supposed to be. And in the new world we had started he is, in fact, in this location. The current game we are playing, showed in the picture, registers this area as the trader area. And none of the blocks or trees are able to be destroyed.

Major version (and sometimes minor) releases are not compatible with each other. For instance, say you have a world created in 1.0, it would not be compatible with 2.0. It has always been this way unfortunately.

For saves, you are correct. For worlds (maps), you can usually still use old ones is you start a new game in the new version. When it doesn't work well it's when there are significant changes to POI. For example, if they changed blocks in a new version (like in A21) and you tried starting a new game on an older map, you would see a lot of blue write blocks. Another issue is if they change POI sizes, which could make them look wrong when placed onto an older map. Deleted POI also cause problems, though those are minor because it will just mean a blank space on the map.

Of course, older maps won't have newer POI on them, so it is preferable to make a new map anyhow.

But saves are normally (never?) compatible between major releases. Start a new game and with every new major release.
