PS Play offline option not working

Currently PSN is having a major issue so I tried to continue my solo game. At startup there is this pop-up window:

LOGIN TO EPIC ONLINE SERVICE
Could not fully initialize Epic Online Services"
Not able to get login ticket from your platform
[ RETRY ] [ PLAY OFFLINE ]

Gues what? the "play offline" button is greyed out.

Turn off your internet connection, before starting the game. That should do the trick.

Strange that this pop-up window is not sharing that info.
