PC Picking up workstations

Can we still pick up workstations using the wrench? I know on the legacy version; we could use it to pick up the forges and so on.

Not anymore, you can only pickup player placed workstations that are in your land claim area. Press and hold E (interact button) on one and hit the grab button on the radial to pick it up.

@Jugginator I'm having a tough time locating handgun magazines, I've farmed 3 shotgun messiahs hit several 5 skull poi's and am not having any luck, would you by chance know how to increase my chances of finding them?

taking a point (or more) into a tree unlocks the increased possibility of finding those book. After that...book stores and gun ranges are good. checking the stock on the any or all of the traders you have found, on restock days. Sometimes you really gotta slog it out, look in every mail book and magazine rack, if the rng is not in your favor. good luck.

Yeah to further on what Dano said, I would focus on stores that would have books and mailboxes. Post offices, schools, day cares, some of the larger houses, places like that.

yeah, I've been hitting anything and everything that has books I've farmed 3 towns today and just 2 magazines so far, next planning heading to the hub and pray that there's a mega crack a book there lol and @HammerDano I did not know that about the perk tree, learn something new every day lol

maybe crafting a scavenger armor set might help as well

The other thing I should have mentioned was keep gathering every handgun part you can find. buy them when you see em, you will probably use at least 40 of them, unless you buy a good weapon off of the traders. I like doing that early game, even so, you will use a lot of them, especially if you craft a low level and a high level weapon each tier. You soon learn to wait. lol

I start out with scav armour...scrapping stuff is my fast and easy go to for making dukes...the free exp for doing it is a nice bonus.

I switch to something that can absorb punishment for late game.

Nerd armour for reading books is an option. I don't use it myself. I like to play on a map for a long time...and I just don't like the look of it...it feels like an insult to intelligence.

I always build nerd armor first.  Investing in perks sets up what books you get. I never drop points into demolition expert so the demolition books are always my last book to finish reading.

I never knew that the perks you select influences the books you'll find.
If you go into the magazines tab and look at each set, it tells you at the top what will boost the % chance to get those magazines.  There are a few that don't have that listed, but most of them do.

I haven't tried to pick up any of my workstations yet, but when I do, like for example my forge, when I pick it up, will everything that I smelted stay in the forge or will I lose it all?

No, you can't even pick it up if it's not empty. You have to get all smelted materials out first.
