PC PC minimum specs on Steam

Morning all,

I'm one of those players that actually enjoy a17 and the vast majority of the changes implemented I agree with. Yes, there are issues to be addressed but that's not the point of this post. After reading a lot of negative reviews on Steam around performance I wondered if the Pimps are going to adjust the minimum specs they show on Steam. I may be wrong but I don't think they have ever changed and I'm pretty sure they are no longer accurate. If this was updated it would (in my opinion) be an easy win for the Pimps and could prevent needless negative reviews.

I agree this should be updated. I would also love to know what hardware the devs are running. Since I pretty much play this game more than any other I wouldn't mind customizing my system to run this game but I don't have a clue how to do so at the moment and the community seems pretty divided on this topic, too divided for me to buy specific hardware based on anyones opinion.

I hear amd doesn't play well with Unity but I'm sure many will jump in and say "mine runs fine".

Knowing what hardware the devs are optimizing the game on would be great.

 
I cannot say for A17, but for A15 and A16 I ran on an older system with an old GTX 550 Ti 1GB and it ran fine. Since A17 came out before I returned from a zombie break, I never tried it on the old system, only the new one.

Amd gpu stuff is actually partly integrated in Unity recently, and Intel is one of Unity's partners, so it really doesn't matter from that side, as it breaks down to game developers to optimize the game based on game code.

Either way, I agree about updating min specs info.

 
I'm running it on GTX 770 (4Gb), i7 4770k and a lot of Ram (32Gb), and I have to turn off shadows, reflections, ssao, motion blur, although I have textures on high, because I can't stand blurry textures. Getting around 50-60 fps most of the time, down to 30 in worst conditions.

In prior alphas I was able to play with shadows for more immersive experience, but it's just too expensive in A17.

 
With the way today's computers are I wonder how they can really advise min system requirements. For instance, I use trichannel ram, not even sure if any computers use it any longer or if the new Alien ware ones still do. It seems to give my very ancient AW system the ability to run games it shouldn't otherwise be able to on 9GB. I upgraded to the Radeon 550 with 4 GB GDDR5. I noticed that cards using ram that is not GDDR5 don't runs as well.

I get 30FPS even during a horde, things don't stutter, but oddly enough, with one or no zombies on the screen I still hover around 30FPS (no shadows, vsync AA off etc) I have to run it at 95 FOV due to the motion sickness thingy so I might get better FPS if it wasnt that high.

This AW is an older quad core intel i7 (pretty sure) running about 3ghz not overclocked. I don't know, maybe someone wth more knowledge can puzzle out why this dinosaur runs pretty good, but newer rigs with "better" specs are slugish

 
I would be surprised seeing this still runs on a GTX550, seeing my 1070 is around 85% on medium....

You sir, have a PC problem. I have two GTX 1070's but since Unity doesn't do SLI/Crossfire, I am only using one, so the same setup as you. I have everything maxed out and maintain 40-80fps in 2560x1440 (2K/1440p). That is with vsync and G-Sync on.

For those interested, the old system was an i5-2500, 16GB DDR4, GTX 550 Ti, and two 500GB SATA disks. One disk was dedicated to games only.

Running an i5 750 @3.0GHz and an R9 280, 16GB of RAM. I play the game at near ultra settings with around 18-60fps depending on world size. I think it's safe to say that the specs are still accurate.

May I also add that Lighting isn't completed yet in A17 so when they finish that, I guarantee the GPU issues will be solved.

I don´t think so. No problems with other games. Runs as expected there. I5-4460, 16 GB RAM, playing it from SSD. Temperatures are normal also.

And i am running it in Full HD btw...

 
I"m not sure they can update the Steam stats until they properly optimize A17.

Maybe we can have this conversation in a couple months.

Looks about right to me... though I'm not 100% sure about CPU... it's a bit too vague and allows anyone with ancient Dual Core CPU to consider buying the game which won't work. I'd maybe change that to "Recent gen 2.4GHz Dual Core or better". And the recommended CPU requirements should be "Recent gen 3.4GHz Quad Core or better".

I realize this game barely runs smoothly with even the high end computers right now, but the devs are working on it, which means it'd be pointless to keep changing it with each new version of the game.

Yea, I've seen same answer/topic multiple times, since a8 I think..

I don't disagree from developer point of view, but early access games, especially on steam, in my humble opinion, should have correct info on requirements before you buy them, not "planned requirements" after Beta optimization and what not, even more if requirements are far off from being correct.
