PC Partial house collapse

So, if we are mining 30 blocks down below the house and the roof of our mine caves in partially, I would say we lost about 6 meters of height. Can that collapse structures above the surface? We went back up top and half our house was collapsed and we lost cement mixer generator half our landing pad etc.

Or was this a bug?

That doesn't sound like a bug, that sounds like physics working properly.
