PC Out of Stamina... Out of Stamina... Out of Stamina...

You must hate therapy.
Also, feelings can be misleading (or "false"/"wrong"). What you think is anger might be more accurately invalidation. Further, you might think that your response is in reaction to not getting what you want when instead it was just that you didn't feel heard.

Just saying that "how you feel" isn't all that simple, nor an excuse to say what you want without response. (The latter certainly does not apply on a public forum!)
I love reading your responses, you try to analyze everyone as a person with no genuine or constructive input to the conversation topic. It's great.

This is not sarcastic, I genuinely enjoy reading your comments for comedic purposes. :D

Honestly, the intent of my replies is comedic, for myself and for whomever. (I tried the ridiculous aping that Snowdog does, and it's an enjoyable method as well.) So many comments on here are asinine such that I really don't know how else to respond. What do you say to the person who says, "The sky is green. That's just how I feel; don't bother to respond"?

And it's not like I contribute nothing to the topic. Usually I've already said my piece.

Edit: At least I accept them all as people with motivations and emotions and personalities! Some dismiss them as mindless drones or faceless nobodies on the InterWebs. I just try to get them to look past their reptilian instincts and use their higher brain functions.

This is totally fair and well pointed out. Still comedic though :D

Im glad someone else (in addition to myself) appreciates me.

I enjoy your posts as well.

It's not something that introduces difficulty as much as something that's getting in the way of having any fun.
Would you say it's like foreplay or like bad foreplay? (I assume that you think sex is fun; I'm trying to see what you think about foreplay. It will help me analyze you better.)

Blue balls ftw

I think the only true negative that I saw someone post elsewhere is (and I agree) that you pretty much have to keep your food level up because it determines your stam cap, and with how fast you fly thru stam, you really want that cap as high as possible. So, letting it drop down to where the better foods give you a more efficient "fill up" isn't the best plan, essentially marginalizing the better foods.

If anything, I think this should be reconsidered. Let us overeat to buffer the stam cap with better food, or instead of making it a fully tied/gradual tie between food and stam, make it stepped. What I mean is, you get 100% stam cap as long as you're 66% food full or more, 66% stam cap if 33-65% full, and 33% cap if any lower. Something like that, where you don't have to be 100% food full to get full stam so it's more reasonable and letting your hunger level drop enough to benefit from beefier foods isn't a punishment.

Beyond that, I think the stam cost for sprinting could use a tweak - one does not survive the zompoc at all without being able to run 50-100 yards without being wiped out. ;)

The rest I'm fine with. You get more efficient with perks and better gear.

There is a term for that.... it's called trolling. Trolling is ostensibly against the forum rules, but I've never really seen it enforced

Hardly. Saying something in a comedic way is not prima facie "trolling." You wouldn't call telling a joke "trolling," would you?

If you want to make the case, tell me what part of my above post (quoted by Poppa Tot) was trolling. Better yet, report it.

Hardly. Countering an unlogical post by showing it is unlogical, even in a comedic way, is as far from trolling as a sarcastic or ironic comment.

Now we could discuss whether Jedo's standard for logic is set too high or nitpicky or maybe even wrong sometimes (everyone is wrong sometimes, no surprise there). But a troll usually takes an illogical stance himself to rile up others without even believing in that stance.

EDIT: Wow, we found the the same opening word for the reply. I think it is called "Weird minds think alike"

It's like foreplay you can only enjoy for about 10 seconds, then you have to stop and wait. Then you start again, but for only 10 seconds. Rinse / Repeat.

The slow base stamina regeneration and fast exhaustion is IMHO mostly an issue in the early and early-mid game. Running around and having to pause every few seconds to regain stamina does not feel well balanced, I'd expect that after about 30+ seconds on an untrained (= Level 1) human.

Once you get to bicycles, stamina becomes pretty much obsolete when it's about moving around and is important for working (mining, harvesting, chopping trees, ...) and melee fighting. The perks do certainly help with that, but to really have fun in close combat it currently takes too long to get the necessary perks (because level gates. Level gates are bad, mmkay?) as you require the generic stamina perk, some weapon-specific perks as well as armor perks.

I'd say the base rate for stamina regeneration should be raised a bit to make early game less slow, especially because that is exactly the time where you spend a lot of time running around and fighting close combat. Or, as it currently is, walking around and waiting for stamina to regenerate ;) Also, the stamina cost should be reduced for certain actions (e.g. running and jumping, oh my that expensive jumping ...).

Pretty much a balancing issue, I'd say. That, and perks shouldn't be behind level gates, then it would be easier to form a specialized char who is good in close-combat (but pretty much nothing else) at Level 20 or so, compared to now where you have to reach Level 60 or 80 to get to the useful perk levels.

Coffe Duration 120 Seconds -> 300 Seconds

Vending machines: Double or tripple the amount of coffee

Bike is now on lvl 20, would still like it earlyer. But with the coffee buff it would be manageable.

Not direct stamina but connected

Allow to craft Leather duster and Puffer Coats (to Hot and too cold need a possibility to react in early game with low loot)

Rebalance Well insulated 9,13,17,21,25 (hope thats enough, its balanced by feeling)

And Rebalance Pack mule to 8,6,5,4,4

Personally, I think hunger/thirst should be divorced from stamina entirely. Stamina should be an intrinsic function of how much effort is required to do specific actions and shouldn't really change much over the course of the game. Think of it like mana cost or cooldowns or whatever other game mechanic you're familiar with that enforces pacing of skill use.

Hunger and thirst should be the driving survival mechanics, as we had in previous alphas. It should be possible to starve or dehydrate to death, and being really low on one or both of those might impact the stamina pool you have available, but not in the direct causal relationship they have in A17e.
