Only 6 fps!!

I am only getting 6 fps in my newly downloaded 17.2. My alpha 16 worked great, but this version is unplayable. I turned off the v-sync (whatever that is) and it did not help at all.

My computer specs are..

Intel® Core i5-6400 GPU @ 2.7GHz 2.71 GHZ

12 GB RAM

64 bit operating system, x64-based processor

HD graphics 530 .

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Yeah, video settings will make a huge difference. Especially when you don't have a GPU to speak of. a16 didn't really make much use of your GPU, but a17 does. Sitting there without one, and sharing RAM for your CPU to fake one is going to have a large impact on your playability.

O.K. but do you have any advice on what to do?

There's your problem.
And any advice on what to do? That is why I posted.

Go to Options/Video/Quality. Set Anti-Aliasing to No, Set texture quality to Eighth, Set UMA texture to lowest, Set reflections to Off, etc.

Go through all the video settings and set them to the lowest possible setting. If that doesn't help, reduce your resolution in Options/Video/Display. If

none of that helps, get a gaming video card.

This.

2GB dedicated video memory is minimum for this game. I recommend a minimum of GTX 1050 or RX 560 or better which will give you somewhere between medium to high graphics settings with this game. But also make sure your power supply is adequate to handle the load. I think 500 watts is bare minimum for a mid-tier graphics card.

Video card will cost 100+ dollars, power supply if needed, will cost 50+ dollars. Don't skimp on power supply quality though cuz you might regret it later if things catch fire or something.

Can't stress this enough. I've watched a couple friends build decent rigs and then cheap out on the PSU... long story short, a couple had to build new rigs again.
