Oh My God !!!

Can't play the game. It crashes. Freezes. Even on lowest settings. Doesn't become more stable. Even after updates and fixes. Too bad the game has many good changes that could be nice to play with. But after 1700 hours with 3 times as many crashes and disappointments. You just have to admit that this game will never reach the finish line.

Verify the Steam Cache several times until it works... sometimes Steam update bugs out.
I wasn't aware you need to check the cache more than once until @LittleNightma pointed that out. Credits to her.

You can say many things about the game and its development, but in my time with the game it has always been stable as far as crashes go. I can probably count on one hand how many times it's crashed in the 9 years I've played it, and at least half of those were from mod issues.

I've had plenty of crashes over the years, enough that "where's my minibike going to be this time" was kinda routine at some point. Without any addons. Last few majors it's been pretty stable though.

Sometimes I’ll delete a file before verifying just to make sure it kicks it into reclaiming missing files. When I verify for the first time and the report is that 0 files were changed or added I get suspicious that it didn’t really do anything. Then if I delete one file and the report says it reclaimed 5 missing files it makes me wonder why it didn’t see the other four before I deleted the one. I think it likes to troll me.

Someone should ask what version he is playing and on what platform! Maybe the old version on Xbox? Then we all can say "ya thats normal"

Speaking of.... Has anyone had the experience of hopping on or in a vehicle and going about your day (no game crash or anything at any point), looking at the map and seeing...an icon where you last stopped as though you need to pick it up? Why is that icon there?

Doesn't strike me as a bug, but maybe some variable accidentally changed or overlooked in the last few updates. Wasn't happening until one of the last few patches. (Only wish I could specify which one.)

I was thinking the map marking for a vehicle only updated when you got off of it rather than having it continually update the vehicle's location on the map as it moves.

It's not as it moves. There's a bike icon on the map at the last place I stopped as though I need to go pick it up when I'm on the bike and headed somewhere else. No games crashes, which is why that happened only once upon a time. No lost bikes in the game. Nothing to account for the icon remaining where it was on the map when, in fact, I was on it and somewhere else entirely.

You're saying once you move the bike and get off of it the old icon doesn't get removed?

Off it or on it. If you've moved the vehicle and look at the map, the icon remains where it was. I couldn't tell you when exactly it disappears without a step by step test on video, but I'm pretty sure it disappears when you get off the vehicle again. It then moves to the vehicle's present location if memory serves. I don't have a video setup or I'd post one.
