I just saw one of the streamers (glock9 i think) try to build on some trees and it looks like that entire feature has been removed.
Is this right?

Right. If you're up there, and a zed sees you, it's going to last maybe 30 seconds.Tree houses wouldn't be very effective anymore anyway, since zombies attack trees now.
its more like aesthetics purposes i guess, not to defend zombiesTree houses wouldn't be very effective anymore anyway, since zombies attack trees now.
as far as I saw in streams/clips, you can't place block to trees anymore in A17 = problem solved. If zombies can destroy trees, and trees would allow blocks to be attached to them (to build a tree house), the whole thing would require a special treatment in the structural integrity calculation when a tree gets destroyed. It was probably easier to avoid those fringe cases.
Next to all the problems with the trees collision model, wich would be held back by offering block support...
you can however build up and around the tree and then get rid of the support blocks that were for starting... thus a tree house and yes, when zombie decides to evict you.... you will come down out of it.as far as I saw in streams/clips, you can't place block to trees anymore in A17 = problem solved.
It would be pretty dope to try to find a way to defend a tree house from hordes, though.its more like aesthetics purposes i guess, not to defend zombies
