I didn't mention that one as I thought it was new for A17....it must be rare.Don't forget the Sniper's Towel.
Nah, it's French we are talking about, a lot of their letters are often silent, as they are too lazy to pronounce themExactly, "FAX PASS."
For hunting the most dangerous animal of all...........MAN!Hunters Rifle
The issue comes into play in the real world when politicians grab these words to advance their political agenda by using more nefarious words to describe something in order to gain public sympathy (a la "Sniper Rifle" and incorrectly calling all black guns that look menacing "Assault Rifles").It doesn't really bug me too much in a game setting, they're named for people who don't know much abut guns. Sniper Rifle is a decent short easy descriptive term for what it does.
Assault Rifle on the other hand actually IS a real thing.

"Assault rifle
Written By: The Editors of Encyclopaedia Britannica
See Article History
Assault rifle, military firearm that is chambered for ammunition of reduced size or propellant charge and that has the capacity to switch between semiautomatic and fully automatic fire. Because they are light and portable yet still able to deliver a high volume of fire with reasonable accuracy at modern combat ranges of 1,000–1,600 feet (300–500 metres), assault rifles have replaced the high-powered bolt-action and semiautomatic rifles of the World War II era as the standard infantry weapon of modern armies."
The problem I have with that term is the way it is misused to describe rifles that do not fit the definition (like an AR15). The term refers to a select fire M4 accurately but not the semi auto AR15.
See, I knew it's about politics. The issue comes into play in the real world when politicians grab these words to advance their political agenda by using more nefarious words to describe something in order to gain public sympathy (a la "Sniper Rifle" and incorrectly calling all black guns that look menacing "Assault Rifles").
I understand that it makes it easier for those who don't know much about guns to give them simple names, but if they are smart enough to figure out how to install and run a video game then they are smart enough to use correct verbage.
