PC No minibike map icon in A16?

Am I missing something?

make sure the bike is crafted by you and not from creative. however, you can disassemble it and then reassemble and it will count as yours.

You also, AFAIK, need a lock for it to show.

nope just tested it... as soon as i placed down the frame my icon showed up.

here is video i just did.

also, you dont even need to be in mp as this test is Single player in Navezgane.

Must be different on modded servers. I had no lock on my bike and I didn't have an icon...on my compass or my map....neither did other players who had no lock. Is three a setting somewhere to turn this on or off?

Also I just noticed you used creative to get your bike to test. Is it possible that is why you could get the icon?

Should've mentioned I made my bikes in MP too. :)

No locks since it's just two of us together, icons work. Not playing on dedi, if that makes any difference.

 
Sometimes on SP games (and MP when I play with my kids) the icon will disappear if I am too far from the bike and then when I get closer, it shows back up.......not sure if that is the same issue.

Sorry for the necro but I seem to be having a similar problem only with any markers on my compass not just minibike. I suspect it is happening for me because it shows icons on compass even if those waypoints are not currently being tracked (making the waypoints I want to see not visible becasue the other waypoints block them). Only way I know of that might fix this is to somehow make it not show any waypoints on the compass that are not currently being tracked but have no clue how to do that (if its possible).

I "lost" my first bike in MP mode, because I was used to SP and did not have a lock on it and yeah we are all friends, I would try to put a lock on it and see if that fixes it, if not it's probably a bug. The other thing you can do is what I did before I found a lock, and that's make your own save waypoint as soon as you get off the bike.

Sorry, just re-read this, and you are having problems with all markers?

Make a marker, then move away from it, try to note how far away it is before it vanishes, lay a bedroll down, you should always be able to see your bedroll When you complete your first questline and it tells you to locate the trader, locate it on the map and set a map marker to see how far away it is and see if you can view it, you may have changed something in your view settings? If so I'd see if you can reset to default settings and see if that makes a difference.
