New block type - Paddle Wheel block set

Although possible to make a wheel shape right now, you can't really make a paddle wheel such as you'd see on a watermill or a steamboat.  Although limited in scope for where they'd be useful, they would allow for some POI that we currently can't make look all that great right now.  I know this is probably something that will end up needing a custom block set from a mod instead of vanilla because of the limited scope of usefulness, but I really think they could be a great addition in vanilla as well.

I don't know but maybe there are shapes among the already available ones that could be used to mimic such a wheel.

I'm often astonished how some people create great looking stuff I wouldn't consider possible because they just use/combine blocks in very creative ways, to make something out of blocks that originally were designed for a completely different purpose.

Yeah, I thought about that.  But there are limited shapes that can create a ring.  And none have anything that looks anything like paddles on them.  And she you can connect other blocks to the rounded sides except where those sides meet the edges of the blocks, there isn't much you can do.

That being said, you can still make something that vaguely resembles such a wheel.  It isn't that there aren't options.  They just aren't very good options, which is why I suggested it.

Maybe I'll play around trying to see how close I can get with what we have and post it here when I have time.

Maybe have a look at the in-game combine harvester. I forget what they're using for the thresher/roller on the front, but IRL that's a similar-ish structure to a paddlewheel (superficially, anyway).
