PC New A17 Assessment

Whats next, Steel sandwiches and steel dukes?
Aww - poor Gazz. I like the steel option. Adding it to turrets can't be that dramatically difficult. Once that's figured out give shotgun turrets the ability to use blunderbuss ammo - then at last one part of the blunderbuss will be remotely useful for once.

Steel is unlocked at level 35 Int 7 I think? Before that you can buy it at traders and mine safes for steel, I don't think there are any recipes prior to that requiring steel.
Magazines were gazz quick filler idea, but won't get cut until A18 so we don't break saves. I have some ideas to replace them. I'm not really a fan of steel ammo. Should have just made more brass sources and called it a day. No idea what it will take to make turrets support it. Nuking steel ammo and adding more brass would solve it though.
while a double edged sword, i appreciate that TFP are identifying placeholder concepts. it definitely helps soothe any obvious concerns about said item.

as for brass, i wouldnt mind seeing steel ammo go the way of the dodo. TFP could add a whole new avenue of opportunities by adding a few more ore types. adding tin, copper and others would add another dimension to crafting and players could use chem stations/forges to make their own brass. adding nickel could make stainless steel craftable, etc. you get the idea. i feel like adding in ores (and their branch recipes) is something TFP could add with relative ease and would open a long list of opportunities (for future placeholders)

So, lets see if I get this right..

You want to get rid of steel ammo, which is a crafting branch for steel, which if you got rid of steel ammo would reduce your crafting option for steel.

Then you want to add in more Ore, just to have more crafting branches..

And the reasoning for removing the steel ammo is?

Just not seeing any reasoning in why you want it gone, other than "just because". At least MM gave a reason for thinking about getting rid of it. Even if I don't agree with his reason he stated.

you sir, are the real MVP!

Weapon mods are not gimmicky and opens up possibilities for xml mods that didn’t exist before.
A16 was a pile of shiiite. Clearly TFP finally got their mojo and made a truly moddable game which is what hardcore people want. Normies can go play MLP, I’m sure nightshy needs a friend there ;)
lul, sorry I have a different opinion than you. That clearly makes me a casual lmao

Its probably fine. Its one of those Gazz ideas that has repercussions, like now people want it to work in turrets, and the shotgun users feel like they didn't get any love. Whats next, Steel sandwiches and steel dukes?
I believe it was the Dragonlance books that steel coins took over as a currency because gold had very few practical uses in the world society at war and steel was the prime material for weapons and armor.

Thus steel was more important than gold and was used as the primary currency. I get that it was intended as a joke, but steel coins could actually be a thing. I mean, you used to be able to melt Duke's for brass I think, and that is a useful thing, but otherwise I'd much rather forged steel as a payment option than Duke's.

You could make slugs slightly less resource crazy to craft and allow those to go in shotgun turrets. You all gave the Magnum the same damage as them I hear.
