PC Needed nerf

While we are at it NERF the trader.
NERF him even more ?

The poor guy already has hardly anything useful left to sell. Do you want to ruin him completely?

I am his only customer. And if I don't buy anything he will file for bankruptcy sooner or later.

Nothing is making you use the trader or use tier 6 weapons or tools or max out any of the trees. Why penalize others for what you perceive as overpowered. This 70 year old can use every little buff I can use. I've been playing this since A16 and I find each version to be overall better than the previous versions. Yes there are somethings I don't like, but overall, I think they have done a great job balancing the game and keeping it fun the majority of players. There are plenty of mods out there to make the game harder or modify it to your play style. Leave the vanilla version to what the developers have envisioned.

You will always be limited by your stamina, so stun lock or not, you can't keep that up forever

Once you go NERF you never go back,  might as well make them a goat weed farmer.

Really if they were gone I would miss NOT them.

Although I may be having a daily quarrel with RNGeezus /insert angelic.wav

Honestly, I would rather play with OP class rather than under-powered one. Baton has to stay strong. No range weapon so players must fry zeds with crowd-control melee.

IMO, the stun baton is really good until you start seeing rads.  It just doesn't have the knock down power of a steel club or sledgehammer.  It takes too many hits to knock the Zs back, and when I've tried it, I get beat up pretty good.  That's been my experience with it.  It's at that time when I might re-spec into strength.  For whatever it's worth, I play on Survivalist.

I have to admit though, it is pretty entertaining to send the Zs flying, especially when you have the repulsor mod installed.

I feel like Strenght is still viable. Close combat shotgun + heavy armor. Light/Medium armor is irrelevant when a player gets his hands on Minibike. Crapton of XP while mining and building. Intellect still needs a dedicated ranged weapon in my humble opinion.

Yeah, strength is probably right after intellect. It just has so many useful perks.

Intellect is fine. With 2 QL6 turrets I only help fight as much as I feel like, mostly for entertainment value (although it is a very good idea to help out on the radiated wights and muts). All you gotta do is keep them fed and place them where you can setup a crossfire.

Okay, so I finally tried the stun baton. I have never used it before as I felt it was gimmicky -- you know where you are with a baseball bat and a good solid bonk on the head; with a run up, the zombie will need to catch a flight back to the spot it was fighting you at! I might repair the batons I found and sell them for the Dukes, and sold all the parts I found. But basically, this thing is stun lock hell for the zombies! Even the most brutal radioactive zombie had to stand there whilst I patiently bonked it on the head until - frequently - the head popped off and rolled away.

That's why I called it OP.

Once you top out all its perks, it's just insanely powerful, and as I said, even on horde night, if you pop its candy.....there is no stopping it.

Any weapon can be OP if you top out all of its perks. Stun baton actually needs a bit of extra work that the other melee weapons don't.

@ryoendymon It´s OP yeah, but a lot of fun. And if you do some small mods to make the game harder it´s not as OP anymore. Doesn´t need a nerf. Don´t like that it is good? Don´t use it. Let´s not spoil the fun for  others here. Also look at strength. With the club and the books you never ever run out of stamina. Knuckles? Standing in a group of rads and facetanking them easily. Crossbow? One shotting radiated feral wights with 2400HP.

You are doing it wrong then. A proper INT build is very strong. Now that includes turrets ofc. A T6 infested with tons of rads, is a walk in the park. A, i will spend some skill points and get that loot bag over there in the middle of a huge fight walk in the park. On survivalist.

Machete can be pretty sweet if you perk into Deep Cuts  Once I am able to craft one or find a decent one in loot, I tend to start playing a minigame in 7 days to die - how many decapitations I can chain together?

I get all giddy when a screamer horde starts up and I have the machete  😄

Calling for nerfs this early in a games development is wild.
... welcome to the forums? These are the second iteration of the forum for this game I have participated on, and even the first of those was having plenty of calls to nerfs; even more discussions of nerfs that were going on, which I consider roughly the same thing - whichever way you phrase the issue, whining or praising, the issue remains the same.

Why wouldn't you call for a nerf as soon as you deem something OP? The earlier an issue is noticed, the easier it'll be to take into account.

I dislike the stun baton immensely. I dislike its look, I dislike its sound, I dislike its swing animation, I dislike its intermittent recharging and I hate that it has it's own tree pretty much dedicated to one weapon, especially when it's just so awful.  These are, of course, subjective opinions.

However it is definitely not OP, except in one very specific situation.. and that's horde night. If you have the perks, the candies and the armor, then a top tier stun baton is literally unbeatable, even up at Insane difficulty. The simple fact is you can't nerf something just for the horde night, and other than it's zapping ability, it's just a @%$# club.

It's fine to dislike it.  (I am not a fan of clubs and sledges)

Keep in mind Jawoodle proves the Stun Baton OP in every episode of his current series.  Izprebuilt considers it so OP its boring.  Glock quite easily did a Grover High Infestation in the wasteland with only the Stun Baton.

Is it OP yes, does it need a nerf, not really.  However, getting access to a T3 weapon at Tier 2 could be balanced a little better.

Strictly speaking, the stun baton is only a T1 weapon if you call the pipe baton a T0. The sledge turret is theoretically a T2 weapon, but not really. There has long been a class for a Plasma Baton in the XML files, but it has never been implemented. This would actually be the T2 counterpart to the Stun Baton.

EDIT: The stun baton does about the same damage as a baseball bat.

If anything JaWoodle's recent play through is actually proving my point, not negating it. He most definitely hasn't been "proving it in every episode" as he's mirrored my complaints pretty much up until he got the perks, the armour, the top tier stun baton and the candies. Of the 23 episodes there have been, it's about 5 of them where he's actually praised the weapon and that's only because he had to change the way he plays the game to fit into the baton's meta. I couldn't care less what IzPrebuilt says, and Glock's love for the baton is mostly tongue in cheek.

It's not at all OP in any circumstance ever, other than horde night. I prefer agility, and will end up with a top tier SMG, and when it has all the perks and armor buffs it will clear out a room far easier and far quicker than repeatedly slamming a pipe into a body that is being bounced all over the place.

The same can literally be said for any weapon. Every weapon has it's strengths and weaknesses, and playing to a weapons' strength to make it more functional is game design 101. You can prefer other weapons and you can dislike the baton. That doesn't change the fact that in it's current state, it is OP as hell.

However, that doesn't change my opinion stated earlier that it doesn't need a nerf. Until they introduce another tier, they should keep it as is.
