PC My land claim feedback.

Note: I don't use this much but would like to use Land Claim Blocks LCB's more once bugs get worked out.

List of things I would like to see in LCB's:

1. Ability to pickup LCB's just like other items.

2. See the border of LCB after placing it while building so I can tell the range and not make the mistake of building outside of the range.

3. Option to keep other players (including friends) from building stuff within the LCB area or at least keep them from locking me out of my own base with doors.

4. Ability to find my own LCB if I paint over it. In case I need to do something with it.

Video of LCB's as of Alpha-16.

1. Land claim blocks now take 1000 stone to make in A 17, I think, easy no need to pick up anymore as they go to 1 hp once a new one is placed.

2. Hold "E" to make the border visible.

3. Don't set them as friends if they don't know how to unlock doors / boxes, that they set down?

4. Not a bad idea, actually, I usually set mine in a notable place, and try not to use the paint roller or spray can feature on the paint brush, but I'll probably paint over it one of these days.

sillls, glad you started this, even if MM gets grumpy :)

My thoughts on your 4;

1) only if needed. Or maybe if they're really expensive. But see my later 'wish-list'.

2) already working in 17.4, which I think they recently snuck in on us??

(I logged into my most recent game after ~2 weeks break, had a weird thing on horde night then found that my LCB was down to 1 HP (no, I hadn't placed another anywhere, so how? No zeds were anywhere near it at any time. Mystery. So I smacked it then placed a new one. The new LCB apparently defaulted to showing a green wire frame outline. Had to access the LCB via E to turn it off.)

3) sounds like a rational feature, but no MP here so...

4) seems reasonable; maybe just a 'Paintable = no' would work?

My wish list is SP centric.

1) Allow multiple active LCBs. Cause I like to have more than one base, and would -really- like to be able to use POIs for FOBs.

2) Have LCBs disable zombie spawns if placed in a POI. Some of the POIs are begging to be remodelled and I hate having to place Plates or Sheets everywhere to prevent spawns inside of "my" base.

*) if 1 + 2 = exploit!! then I'd be totally ok if LCBs only had say 1500 HPs like a Cobblestone block. I always put them in a protected spot anyway. And assuming that later on the AI doesn't pick them for special attention.

~!!~ not trying to p.o. MM here but,.. his replys regarding a way to permanently disable the console; basically, "if you don't have the self control to not use it that's on you" kind of applies to having the ability to place multiple active LCBs.

I know I won't simply run around and place them in every POI in town and then come back later for all the free loot. As he said, why not just use god-mode?

Though obviously there's MP & PvP to think of, so maybe allowing multiple LCBs would have to be an Option; 1, 2, 3, etc., infinite..?

or maybe just expose the possibility to mod it in. that'd work fine for me as well.

Hopefully we'll get a more formal thread from a moderator for this subject after A18 drops and A19 is marinating. Meanwhile, my biggest ask is that the lcb offline modifier would actually function as (we think) it was originally intended. Right now it doesn't matter what the offline modifier is set for--it will still just follow the settings of the online modifier.

On the server I play on, we think we'd like to make it more difficult to base raid if the player whose base your raiding is offline. Conversely, it would encourage more player interaction to make it easier to raid a base if the base owner was online. If this feature was working properly we'd be able to set it to reward more PVP player interaction--and make it less true that PVP mostly means someone waits until you leave to take all your stuff.

The most extreme setting variation we've talked about is 0x extra block strength online, invincible offline.

Maybe that would make for good PVP gameplay, maybe it wouldn't. But we'd like the ability to try it if the setting worked.

This may get more important after A18 since A18 has some books/perks that will make base raiding even easier once you collect them.
