More imersive weapons

in 7d2d assault rifle is AK47 and its completly unrealistic becouse barely anyone uses them in USA please replace with AR15.

Barely anyone uses a rocket launcher in the USA... The game is skewed towards what makes sense for good gameplay in the zombie apocalypse. Limiting it to realistic weapons would be, well, limiting.

Sorry but no, this isn't even remotely true GGPL. AK variants are extremely popular in the US.

Besides, AK is the AR you would go for in the zombie apocalypse. Unlike M16 etc. it can survive anything and what you need is a gun that keeps working no matter what, not a shiny awesome gun that stops working with a little mud up the barrel.

I saw both AKs (good Russian ones at that) and M4 platforms fail under the same circumstances. Both systems would likely face catastrophic failures with barrel obstructions. Long and the short of it - Keep your stuff clean as you can. SHTF, I'd take both :)

M60? Now that's a throwback! The Pig hasn't been around in ages.

I knew someone would take the mud up the barrel literally....

Nvm, just watch some videos of Vietnam war and you will know what I meant by AKs being much more reliable.

Lol well some people actually believe those myths. Both the AK and M16/M4 platform have come a long way since Viet Nam so what was true back then isn't necessarily true today.

Personal experience taught me that both are very reliable platforms today. :)

Wasn't the main issue for the failure in Nam was they were over cooking the ammo? Too much powder for reliable functionality? Stoner designed it, but the gub'ment didn't consult him on proper ballistic applications. That's why you had repeated gas tube failures, IIRC.

The AK is a much more simple machine, and there's millions of them out in the world...which is probably why they chose to include it in the game. That, and it's easier to assign 2 guns to 7.62mm. If they had an AR, that would just add another caliber to the mix.

Personally, I'd love the addition of calibers and more weapons. Half the fun (and magic) of series like Dungeon Siege, Diablo, etc. was collecting things. Depths of personalization makes the game more interesting. I also understand that resources are scant so it's always a balance in 7DTD which is understandable but also a letdown to a degree. There's a point where games can become too bland and unengaging, and I'd hate to see that happen here.

They should steal Gearbox's Borderlands weapons mechanics...then it would be a party.

Yup! :D

I thought about it when TFP talked about upcoming mods.

You could have a mod that adds to clip size but takes away handling (weapon draw/aim/reloads -speed). You set the min and max for both. RNG takes over and the bigger the clip the slower the handling animations and vice versa. (ro barrel length - accuracy vs. handling)

You can easily have "anything" vs. handling. And every mod will be unique, so you collect them and choose by what playstyle fits you. Slow, powerful, accurate sniper vs. fast and nimble AR, useful in close quarters.

There could even be more stats that the RNG changes in one mod.

STALKER also has a nice weapon upgrade/enhancement system... Not to mention a huge array of weapons that makes the game far more interesting than if it had 5-6 choices. Customization and breadth of choice would be huge for 7dtd. Some will say that it doesn't add anything, which I respectfully disagree with. If we're putting in window trim, cigars, 12012 hair styles, twenty types of pants, etc., then the same idea should be applied to guns too. Options, customization, and more options is always good. Just my opinion.

I've actually been thinking of modeling some weapons for the fun pimps to maybe implament into the game. I think it would be cool to see a few new weapons

...do y'all realize that this is one of the core features in the upcoming A17 update? :)
no, they need NAMES... a rifle (same function as ak) with other name/model,

a pistol with other name/model

they do not need new configurations of the same weapon :D
