I played this game with my wife a lot...like 2500 hours a lot. We only play(ed) MP servers and I played MP PvP servers by myself sometimes. She hasn't played for a long time now..A17 I think it was due to her being bored with the change of focus in the game. I think it's clear now that they are moving entirely away from MP and PvP. There were comments by @madmole roughly between A17/A18 that PvP would get some love, but at this point I think not. Yeah..yeah...I'm sure the usual "but the focus is on SP" comment is coming. Except @madmole has already said that there will be improvements.
That begs the question: Why does every update and addition create more problems for MP servers?
Involuntary vehicle (and other) duping has become commonplace, filling up the servers and causing mega-lag meaning that many servers have to ban them or impose special rules. The buried treasure quests create holes all over the map and despite complaints, we are getting more incentive for buried treasure. Mods freeze the game, causing exploits like certain gun mods lagging up the entire local area. Let's also mention the terrain clipping which is all but ignored.
The perk system was meh. It's not bad but it didn't enhance the game either, it was just "there". The work was done, and it got implemented, and created more "features". But that's been the focus for a long time now. All I've seen is a bunch of busybody additions that haven't enhanced anything, and an increase in bugs and lag on MP servers.
If you love the SP, that's cool. But the MP has gotten worse and my two favorite servers (which are high population, also requiring multiple servers) have dwindled to the point that they are shutting down. The server moderators are inundated with players needing lost vehicles replaced because they teleported across the map, cleaning up all the extra duped vehicles, server crashes, having to restart every 2 hours because of memory leaks, dealing with player exploits and glitching. Sad because this could be a damn good MP game. The MP server communities are awesome, and it sux to lose them.
If your single player game doesn't have these problems, good, but comments about how well your SP game runs are irrelevant, as well as your opinion on whether the devs should do anything to improve the MP servers.
