MODS the game really needs updating, TFP's speak to modders!.

I've been on the game since the first year it came out and wow has it changed, TFP's MUST work with or create better connections with modders who almost keep the game alive but get no thanks from TFPs, I can Fully understand why some modders/coders stop updating their work on a selection of sites which I think is down to a constant flow of game updates which can in a lot of cases break mods, the modders mostly do it for free whilst testing or pushing their knowledge (BIG thank you BTW) I think if TFPs made better connections with modders the mods wouldnt always break and it would be easier on those lovely people who keep the game so great and full of fun so keep at it 'modders', but please if any of you can make or have made the Nuclear generator/power mod please update cause thats a key mod for obvious reasons but so is Quantum Elevators thats well outdated but helps so much stopping base raiders...There should be more players donate to either individual modders or have one big pot that the top modders can get a once a year payout from and id gladly put a donation in cause its only fare to show some respect back to the modders who do vast amouts of headwork and code...TYVM modders the game survives cause of you.

The game is still in development.  That means that mods are going to break.  No way around that until they get to the point where the modding code is no longer getting updated to handle the changes and new features they are adding.  Wait until gold (about 2 years) and then you will likely not see any more mods breaking.  The modders understand the risk of their mods breaking and they have chosen to still make the mods.  Some will move on to other games before gold and their mods may remain broken, but that's just life.  If a mod is particularly useful, you might be able to get someone to get permission from the original mod author to continue their work.  Beyond that, maybe another modder will make something similar.  But if the mod is only used by a relatively small number of players, you'll have more trouble getting someone to take over.

Some modders allow you to donate to them, but others don't want donations.  And a "big pot" option would likely fall under the category of payment and would not be allowed per the EULA/TOS/whatever that says they can't be paid for making content for the game.  It also wouldn't have much affect on whether or not a modder keeps a mod updated for the game or moves on to other games.

Thanks for the reply and apologies for the late response, firstly thanks admin and sorry for posting it on the wrong place, thanks for the reply "Riamus" thats a fare point, I honestly dont know a single player apart from new players who would play on non modded maps anymore, so TFP's should in my view extend an arm of support to modders, I have offered a modder what I thought was an acceptable amount of money for one of their very simple mods to be just updated recently but although they replied they wasnt intrested...Thanks again Riamus for your reply.

vanilla is still the most popular version of the game. IDK where you get your info from but more players play vanilla then modded.

Yes there is a large Modding community but it is far smaller then the those whom play vanilla.

Sorry I wasnt clear what i was trying to say, I meant that most players if not all who I have been on the game with over the years prefer a server with mods on and not a modded server, i stand corrected. thanks.

 Take a look at Twitch.
If vanilla takes up 60% of the results, it means that mods take up the remaining 40%. And that's a very bad result for the main game.
Mods usually take up no more than 20% (approximately). Vanilla is only interesting to beginners - then they realize that the game has huge potential and go to mods, because vanilla f%№ked everything up.
I know the vast majority of streamers who play only mods, and some have never played vanilla AT ALL. Yes, AT ALL - i.e. they started getting to know the game with mods.

I'm not saying 7dtd is a bad game. 7dtd is a GREAT game, but it's just a platform for mods.
Vanilla is only needed as a plug... just to understand that you need to play mods 😝

You're certainly entitled to your opinion, though I don't share it. I think it is an excellent result for the game. I think it means the game has a lot of replay potential and a solid technical foundation. I don't even contemplate replaying an uninspiring game and a game that doesn't cater to mods probably isn't worth the extra hassle of trying to mod. While I might play with some mods to Vanilla, I wouldn't say Vanilla is F'd up. I prefer Vanilla to the collection of mods on most servers that I've tried.

Absolutely, besides, I might not even care about your opinion 😉.

Well, that's what I said - that 7DTD is a great platform for mods.
And vanilla.... well, not to use bad words.... look - you can play Minecraft without mods and not worry. And then, when it becomes insufficient, move on to mods.
Vanilla is bad from the very beginning and many of my streamer friends say this.

That would probably be wise. I often conclude my opinion is overrated.

This might explain why I don't find Twitch to be entertaining. Not only are they not playing what I want to watch, but activities like organizing an inventory is really only interesting to the person doing it.

But twitch is 90% of the 7dtd streamer audience. There's nothing else to watch. YouTube is the other 10%.

Yes, there's certainly a lot of 7d2d streams on Twitch. There's one where a group of four guys is pretty funny. They probably have a regular schedule, but I'm an irregular watcher. If I find them I'll watch for a while. I don't care for streams with so much junk on the screen that it hides the game. I tend to prefer streams with small audiences. I don't care for streams with the integration turned on and all the wild events. I find I end up over at the "Ask Jesus" AI, watching a Bob Ross stream, or scouting out a game I'm thinking of getting. There's a couple of YouTube streamers that I follow.

OK, I've installed the mod on my dedi server and it didnt work, my server has the EAC on due to wemod'ers ruining the game so I wonder if its that.
