Mod using Drone xml to create?

Hello all, 

I was adding mods to my game the other day and started to play when out of the blue I had a thought is there a mod for a tamable wolf that functions vary closely to that of the drone. If anyone has any thought on something that already exists, or by chance give my some directions on my current attempt to create such a mod that be much appreciated. 

 
NPCmod has an arctic fox that you can tame that functions fairly similar to the drone, plus will attack things for you. I think there are some other mods, maybe oakraven's, that has pet guards as well. I'm not familiar with them to detail features of those though.
