MOD Request - Please Read - Pet Dachshund

so i saw a unity asset i was considering purchasing, but I am not sure how to implement it into the game.  Here is the link to it. What i would like is to have this as a Pet, it can just follow me around or sit at base etc. Anyone know how to accomidate such a thing? Here is the link to the asset.

Creating an expansion pack for the NPCMod looks like a good bet. You can also try looking at the Darkness Falls mod, it implements a tamed wolf that seems to have the desired behavior.
