Mod Launcher issue / TitaniumOre not found

Attempting to use the mod launcher to run the Darkness Falls mod.

The game will load and log in to the server but stops at the "initializing world" part of loading. The only thing I've seen consistently is "TitaniumOre not found." Sometimes the error shows in the log file, sometimes not.

You can load the game through Steam and log in with out issue.

I have tried a fresh install on the server, a fresh install on client side, and validating the files through Steam. When validating the files through Steam after attempting to load through the launcher, it validates/replaces 39-42 files.

I'm out of ideas but this isn't my area of expertise.

The steam version will work because, if you're using the launcher, then that version of the game will be 100% vanilla.

Looking at your other thread, it seems like you're letting the server send you the XML files rather than installing locally.

Get the mod running via the launcher in single player mode only FIRST. I advise making sure you have a clean copy on steam, having the launcher make a copy of that and then click pre-sync mod. That seems to work way, way better :)

Once you know the mod will load and work in single player mode, then you can start working on the server.

Well that's the obvious problem then. I got roped into setting up this thing as the "most tech savvy" of our group (which isn't saying much realistically). I thought the launcher was setup so no additional files needed to be installed on the server. If that's the case, I am pretty confident I can use an FTP program to set the mod up on the server. Guess I need to find and download the mod though first.

I was confused thinking the launcher made it unnecessary to install the mod directly on the server.

Just so you know, you were 100% right. I guess I wasn't paying attention and completely missed needing the server side files. The mod works on the server now.

It is a little glitchy. Nothing too bad, bloom/cosmetic issues, and it may be graphics settings on my end. I'll work that out later. You nailed it though.

Well, it worked for about a week. Yesterday when loading the game, the loading screen was changed to the Darkness Falls background. We had never seen that before. Now, it fails to load because Exception Block not found Uranium. I installed the mod directly to my copy (not using the MOD launcher) and reinstalled it on the server. No luck. Searched through both the server master file and the client side master file. There is no Uranium file in either except for Uranium Pile. Any ideas?

I just updated the mod about 17 hours ago.

Link I gave you is the updated server files so make sure that's on the server or it won't work.

I think that may have been the problem Had an updated client side from the launcher and an older version on server. I went to github directly and downloaded the two new updated files. We play on a survivalservers server and it takes it about forty minutes to upload the mod to the server. Waiting on that now.

I stopped using the mod launcher and just installed the mod the old fashioned way. I don't play any other version/mods so it wasn't really doing much for me but adding an extra step.

By the way, we are having fun playing the mod. I don't ever research anything about the mods before I play so that everything is a surprise. It's been a little tricky and a lot of fun so far.

Nope. Now instead of the Exception Block error when initializing the world, I got "Server still initializing. Please try again later." (or something to that effect) Trying to figure that out now

That's the kind of error I don't know how to fix.

I just delete the server files and start over when that happens. :D

That seems to be the general accepted fix. Fun game but so very glitchy. I tried moving the steam_api64 file to the root and it did not have any effect. Got a ticket in to wipe the server and do a fresh install.

Fun times, fun times. Well a fresh install on the server seems to have fixed the connection problem. Although now every point of interest on the map (including roads) are either 100+ blocks in the ground or 100+ blocks up in the air.
