Hey guys, I'm working on a mod that uses assets directly from Fallout 4 and I was curious if posting a mod with there objects and textures does that fall under any Copywrite laws? I want to make sure because what I have so far is getting exciting :D

I have to admit, this looks awesome. The question is, are these assets directly taken from Fallout or are they created by yourself in the style of Fallout? I guess the latter would be fine, if it's the first I'm afraid that might get you in trouble. :( I mean, there's probably no one who could stop you from playing with assets privately in your own personal game, but sharing with the rest of us is a whole different thing. Honestly, I don't know if this is allowed, but I'm ■■■■ sure this looks awesome.

#1 likely applies here. I haven't read it all (and I'm not an official spokesperson or part of TFP , just some forum lurker) so maybe more applies:

1) Copyrighted work should be used only with permission of the original creator. This includes content from other games, from DLCs, music creators, images found on the internet or from other file authors. Even if you are from a country that does not have copyright laws it is expected that you will seek the permission from copyright owners before using their property in your own mod.

Well, if they give the "ok" even on some part of it, it will be really cool and you'll have a niche modlet that no one else has that will likely be in demand :)

I will have many of my own assets as well, some made and some I paid for :)

For example, I added: Bag of Flour, Bag of Sugar, and a Regular Sugar. With the bag of sugar, you can break that down to 10 regular sugar. Used for crafting the Nuka-Colas and other things later.

I'll just have to design all my own stuff and remove the fallout 4 assets. If I want to publish my mod :p . I can just redesign the cola's my way. any ideas for a cola name?

I honestly wondered when I first released my Nuka mod if they would have an issue with it. It is their name, technically, but I'm not using any actual assets from them. Just stuff based off of theirs that I either made myself or found/bought somewhere. So I doubt they'll ever bother me about it.

And there are plenty of Fallout style assets out there, so it shouldn't be hard to get stuff together. Especially if you can make what you can't find.

 
Imagine, if you will... that this mysterious wealthy dude called Duke would really exist in this post apocalyptic world and he would really own many businesses including the legendary casino, which is the mysterious place associated with so many legends and stories, but mostly known for being the place where Duke's casino tokens come from. What if this mysterious wealthy man called Duke one day sat on his expensive couch thinking: "Man, what I would give for a bottle of good old CENSORED-Cola"? Well my friend, this is when it struck him and he came up with an idea of creating his very own post-apocalyptic CENSORED-Cola. But being a good businessman, he knew that if he wants his new drink to sell like hot-cakes, he has to come up with a good catchy name for it that everyone would love and easily remember. He became so obsessed with the idea, that he wanted everyone to feel familiar with the name of his drink even though they never really drank it in their life and that's when he came up with a simple name Duka-Cola. It was not only easy to remember, but also the name had some magic in it that made everyone feel strangely familiar with the drink, even if they never drank it in their life before. Duke immediately gave orders to his employees to start searching for any references, books, leaflets, posters, etc. to get as much information about the original CENSORED-Cola as possible. His main intention was to find the original recipe for CENSORED-Cola everyone used to love before the apocalypse. Once they found everything they needed, he ordered them to burn every proof of existence of CENSORED-Cola's original recipe and build the factory on a remote, undisclosed secret place and start producing his new drink based on the original, so that survivors all around the wasteland could enjoy it.

The legend says that the original Duke's name for his new drink was actually Duke-Cola, but his employees who came mostly from various groups of bandits, raiders, many of which can't properly read and write didn't get the name of the drink right and so it happened that instead of the intended name Duke-Cola, they went with the name Duka-Cola. Of course the regime under Duke's leadership has always been very strict and hard to make sure raiders would respect and obey him all the time and such a mistake could not be tolerated. He found the person responsible for mispelling the name for his new drink and shot him on the spot. But despite this unintentional name change, the new drink Duka-Cola became very popular all around the wasteland.

Just an idea...

Even if you left it as it is, I wouldn't mind. In fact, I would prefer it to stay as close to original as possible. I was just throwing ideas some of which may be good, some others not so much, but those who are interested may use them as a background story, you know, like why do all these strange things appear in post apocalypse in the first place...

I have for a long time thought these items should be in the vanilla game. Basic stuff you should be able to find that doesn't "go bad". Useful in a lot of recipes.

 
I'll be fine :p . Here are some more items I'm adding. I made the base cans from scratch, the canned oranges label I found online but I modified it, the grape juice label I made from scratch. The pomegranate I purchased.
