whilst going to the desert ( ;) ) to mine scrap iron and shale I actually come across silver and gold on RGW

I honeslty didn't think they where in RGW

Yes! I also didnt think it was a thing in console version. Its so rare to come across though that i dont actually go to the dessert to mine for it. If i come across it while mining for shale then im happy though

 
I was chuffed to bits 6x1200 iron 4x6000 sand 6000 shale 2 x silver and 1 gold.

This is after about 10 repair kits and 6000 fuel. Well worth the trip

 
Silver and gold are rare to dig up, even on PC it is rare to dig up. But as skullpiker said on PC you can find them besides digging so maybe whenever console does get that update whenever that will be then the option will be available on it also.

 
I do believe on console you can loot gold and silver nugs, you mostly will find them more when you dig for the treasure chests. The nugs were added in an update last year if I recall.

 
Only place i found gold, silver, & platinum is on the Navezgane map, in the desert just north of the huge canyon.

There's a small building there that has a big metal chute or conveyor belt. Im guessing this is a rock quarry type building.

Anyway you go through the building & you either find some steps or you bust open the floor in an "obvious" spot. Anyhow, you find an underground tunnel that goes really deep into a mine. You find all kinds of gold, silver, & platinum along the walls down there. Its huge & takes many in game hours to loot. I think i spent an entire night into the morning looting the place.

Other than that, i have heard it is in random gen, just super rare like others have said. Im not much into mining so the building mentioned above is the only place ive found the goods.

 
I dug from corner to corner then other corner north and south and east and west then more tunnels besides all that and no gold or silver for me. All that digging I did find that glitch where the dirt has a open tear when ya see above ground and if you move in it you pop up above ground. Its scary.

 
After reading this thread it made me curious, so I went to my wife's navzegane map and went to the canyon. Not sure if it's the exact building but it goes down quite a ways and has the little balcony at the bottom on the side of the canyon. I broke out the chain link fence in places and mined iron, shale and got some gold and silver nuggets!

Yup, thats the right building. Only place ive found the gold & silver but again, i dont get too much into mining so i believe others when they say theyve found it other places.
