I just copied it from the game's page on Steam and I will suggest a few Disclaimers and hints on restructuring the text (in italics):
HOW LONG WILL YOU SURVIVE?
With over 2.5 million copies sold on PC (digital download) 7 Days to Die has redefined the survival genre, with unrivaled crafting and world-building content. Set in a brutally unforgiving post-apocalyptic world overrun by the undead, 7 Days to Die is an open-world game that is a unique combination of first person shooter, survival horror, tower defense, and role-playing games. It presents combat, crafting, looting, mining, exploration, and character growth, in a way that has seen a rapturous response from fans worldwide. Play the definitive zombie survival sandbox RPG that came first. Navezgane awaits!
- I would take out the mining reference because to someone new it's hardly worth mentioning. It made more sense in the previous versions of the game. It's also a bit of a stretch calling it an RPG because there is no story and actually character development, but I have more to say about that later.
GAME FEATURES
Explore – Huge, unique and rich environments, offering the freedom to play the game any way you want with many unique biomes.
- Since 16.4 offered a lot more unique and rich environments and freedom, this description isn't really up to par any more. Best to just remove this or change it into something completely different that reflects the current state of the game. Maybe mention that there are 3 or so biomes to explore. It's certainly not "any way you want" any more, as an example, like I want it I can't have it any more, because that got "uptdated" out of the game.
Craft – Craft and repair weapons, clothes, armor, tools, vehicles, and more with over 500 recipes.
- Is the repairing still a big feature or should this be toned down? Is it really 500 or even close to 500 recipes?
Build – Take over a ruin, or build from the ground-up. Design your fortress to include traps, auto turrets, electric fences and defensive positions to survive the undead - the world is fully destructible and moldable.
- * Disclaimer: Technically you CAN take over a ruin but servers usually don't allow it. So, since people are gonna get a little disappointed in online play, maybe something to think about when mentioning this.
Cooperate or Compete – Work together cooperatively to build settlements or work against each other raiding other player’s bases, it’s really up to you in a wasteland where zombies and outlaws rule the land.
- * Disclaimer: outlaws are still in planning stage. People might also get annoyed as long as there is only one LCB.
Create - Unleash your creativity in creative mode and build the ultimate world by yourself or with friends. Enjoy unlimited access to over 500 in-game items, 1,200 unique building blocks and a painting system that offers over a quadrillion combinatoins.
- * Disclaimer: just turn off zombies when you play creative because otherwise you'll get pretty annoyed by the zombie hordes destroying all your builds and bunkers every very so often.
Improve – Increase your skills in a multitude of active and passive disciplines. 7 Days to Die is the only true survival RPG with over 60 multi-tiered skill and perk groups.
- Actually Fallout 1 through 4 plus Vegas were survival RPGs. The Forest is a survival RPG. The Long Dark, Far Cry Primal, the list goes on and on. They are "survival RPGs" because they actually have a character in a narrative and offer a lot of choice. Just because 7dtd has skills and perks it's not really an RPG. I as a player care absolutely not the least about my "character" in this game, especially in a17; that's because you're not really a character in a narrative, you're more just a player in an environment. For RPG there need to be freedoms and player choices of what to do and at least a little story and a goal, which actually was quite a bit more abundant in a16. Now everybody is basically doing pretty much the same. That's not really what RPG is about. So with that said there are actually many other RPGs out there which are "truer" than this one, maybe not in a zombie setting, but the description doesn't mention the zombie setting. So that warrants a change in the sales pitch.
Choose – Play the Navezgane campaign world, or dive back in with friends in a randomly-generated world with cities, towns, lakes, mountains, valleys, roads, caves and wilderness locations. The possibilities are infinite with over 350 locations.
- Remove the words cities, lakes, mountains, valleys. What is left isn't mountainous and there are no valleys. For valleys it needs mountains. You have flat terrain with hills sticking up out of the plane. In dips there are ponds, not lakes.
Combat – Encounter over 50 unique zombie archetypes including special infected with unique behaviors and attacks.
- Arguably there might be 50 or so archetypes, but they are not unique in their behaviours and attacks. There are two attack archetypes and two to five behavioural archetypes, depending on your interpretation.
Survive – Experience real hardcore survival mechanics with over 45 buff boosts/ailments along with dynamic cold and hot weather to contend with.
- When you know the game a little you can just live off of the land without any great skill, so I wouldn't call it "real hardcore survival mechanics". Buffs and ailments, let me think? Hungry, thirsty, drunk, broken leg, sprained leg, fatigued, infected, diarrhoea, food poisoning... I guess I'm missing 36 buffs/ailments? Or only 4 or 5?
Destroy – Buildings and terrain formations can collapse under their own weight from structural damage or poor building design.
I think this might be one of the few things the game is unique in and would be a bigger sales point to me. I'd use this way more to describe the features of the game, and I'd put that way higher up the list of features.
Loot – Scavenge the world for the best guns, weapons, tools, armor, clothing, and vehicle parts which have quality ranges which govern attributes to provide hundreds of thousands of item permutations.
Quest – Find dynamic treasure maps left by survivors and dig for real buried loot. Discover quest notes and complete them for rewards and skill points. Meet Trader NPCs to buy and sell goods.
Customize – Create your own character or pick a preset and customize in-game even more with a huge selection of clothing and armor you can craft or loot in the world.
Drive – Enjoy the badass vehicle system where you find all the parts, learn all the recipes and craft and augment your own vehicle.
Farm or Hunt – Plant and grow gardens for sustainable resources or head out into the wilderness and hunt over a dozen unique wild animals.
- With a little update for a17 this is fine.
Edit: the screenshots should be updated also, the pictures contain mountains and all the old POI mix, so they're not representative of the current game.
Just a little reflection over what's said compared to how things are in the current state. The text on steam speaks in a way as if this is how things are, in a matter of fact way, however it simply is not the case. Maybe better to put things in a planned features section, like other devs do with their E.A. games so it's not sounding like more than it actually delivers. There could also be section of features that are in the game now which the devs plan to remove in future builds, because I guess that's also pretty unique for this game... but I'm not sure if that's something people want to spend money on.
