Max Level Increase Not Working - Any help greatly appreciated!

Hello :)   I have this in my config in the progression.xml:

 

<configs>

<set xpath="/progression/level/@max_level">500</set>

</configs>

And, I've reached level 300 and stopped leveling. Anyone know what I'm missing please? Thank you for the help!
